Illustration Friday: Sizzle

Making S'mores

Don't you just love that moment when the marshmallow catches fire and there's a great big sizzle while the sugary pillow caramelizes into gooey, burnt goodness?  Mmmm.  Unfortunately, this image has not helped my popularity in this household.

Ye gads!  Take a look at the Poppy image from the previous post.  Notice anything missing?  The wings, man, the wings!  I forgot to add in the wings!  I just want you to know that I did not pluck the wings off a fuzzy bumblebee for the sake of art.  I will have to remedy that this weekend.

On a final note, I had a guest post on a lovely blog called Jazz and Draw this week.  Jazz and Draw seeks to inspire the discovery of new music and albums and artists.  Please do check it out when you have time.  I created a drawing of a talented young singer/songwriter named Zee Avi, whom I like to listen to while drawing.

Have a great weekend!  Spring break is next week for us.  I shall be looking to break some springs.

GASP! Those little stinkers, and that poor unsuspecting marshmallow man! My love of s'mores still makes me a fan of this adorable pic. I can't see a poppy on though. Now I am curious!

I only eat burnt marshmallows. It used to drive my sister crazy because she would carefully, carefully roast hers, and I would would just stick mine in the flames. Yummm...carbon. But I digress! I love this and you are so funny. And break those springs, but be sure to wear protective eyewear!

Do you know who sizzles? You! Your FPOT is an endless source of magnificent illustrations that never fail to induce joy and happiness. Maybe I just love you and everything you do but you sure make it easy to gush over what you do. You are the best!!! Tsup!

Oh I forgot. You know the girls do not gave to climb the tree and use a magnifying glass. Marshmallow man may run away when he hears the sizzling sound, so they can just use a giant pole and stick him over fire.

This artwork has a really good/cool concept. The colors are neutral making it have a natural look to it. I like the way the kids are using nature to make the marshmallow "sizzle".

Happy Day of Maternity and Beauty. Hahaha! I did not know there was such a day. I hope you are pampering yourself on this "No Housekeeping Day". We have been celebrating Sisterfriend Day since 2009. That is a wonderful long time, and I hope we continue to celebrate even when we need magnifying glasses to see the screen. :) I love you!!!! Tsup!

I am so glad to see that you are back! It's been a long time and I have been busy moving from Tucson to Maine! cute pictures as always and did you know there is a variety of wasp without wings? I know of one called a Velvet And that is absolutely deadly if it stings you. It's sting is said to drop a cow in its path. They have them in Arizona. There may be more wingless bees and wasps, but that is the one I know about. No, I have never been stung by one! (I'm still here, aren't I? :-))

…then Marshmallow Man said to Mr. Badger, "Heyyyyy.. now I'M starting to feel a little hot!"

Another masterpiece Bella. I like your storytelling.

This is so evil! It totally made me laugh!!! What a crazy & delightful scene!! (though certainly not for the marshmallow man!!)

I did not notice the wings!!! I guess that's why he didn't fly away when the girl wanted a hug....
