This is a story of a girl who liked to send messages
to her friend who lived on the faraway hill
by blowing clouds
and filling them with stories and song
and then sending them across the valley on a breeze
and the clouds, being heavy,
would sometimes sprinkle her thoughts on the valley below
upon the villagers who rejoiced at the bounty.
Sometimes her messages to her faraway friend would be filled with sorrow and gloom.
But today, there is nothing but love in the air.

Oh Bella, this is sooooooo incredible! I love, love, love it!!!
I love the mood and the limited palette. Yes, sublime is a good word for this :)
(((Hugs)))
Wow... beautiful. I completely love your tiny picture/story walk through - it gave a much more intimate feel to a large image where you would never see all the details. The muted color pallet gives a wistful feel to a sweet image.
As it should be ... only love in the air. In simplicity, you speak volumes. **happy smiles** Deb
Oh Bella! This last drawing brings me happy tears! LOVE LOVE LOVE is everywhere!
How absolutely LOVEly!!!! A wonderful, wonderful story with a much deeper meaning.

this work of yours reminds me of hers. ^_^
How magical! I love it! :) :)
I have your blog open on my screen for about half an hour now. It so happens again and again that I come here and I am in total awe of your incredible ability to conjure the most awesome stories and ideas with your wonderful illustrations. I am physically rendered weak because I am so blown away by the wonderfulness of it. I am so afraid to write my praises for fear of being accused of delivering sycophantic praises and empty platitudes but I am sincerely in awe. Why cannot I think of this? Why cannot my mind be as bold and creatively agile and rich? I am comforted that what I lack and do not have is consoled by the fact that I call you friend. But you know darn well that unlike material things creativity and brilliance does not transfer by osmosis. Sigh.Sigh*** Beautiful, Bella. Absolutely beautiful. You make me strive to better myself if only to be considered half awesome as you.
So beautiful...
This is amazing! So lovely, magical, whimsical, and sweet! I love seeing the interesting worlds you create - always surprises!
Wow, it's like parting a veil into another world. Sweet and magical, with equal parts melancholy and joy. I love the thought of the villagers being sprinkled by a passing cloud of wonder and mystery. So damn neat!
This is really wonderful! I love it!
Oh my Bella, you've done it again.
Grinning ear to ear at my screen. Such a lovely illustration.
Especially enamored with the villagers catching the falling sweet sentiments and songs.
I imagine this to be true story. We often think of those we love living miles away, sending love and positive energy their way. A kiss on the breeze, a warm hug in the sunshine.
Also, thank you. I appreciate all you do.
How positively PERFECT! Bella, your post made me feel like I was the 'boy' who lived on the twilight side of the hill--while 'she' lived on the morning side of the mountain.
It just kept running through my head. How sweet! And how sweet is your illustrated story: LOVE "...dropping as gentle rain from heaven, upon the Peeps beneath..."
OH THANK YOU, Girl!!
This rates my favorite word (borrowed from you and that girl with the dishes--grin!
TSUP!
No words to express how beautiful this post is! Love it, oh I am drenched in the sprinkle of love too! Leaving the page with a broad smile, thank you! :)

WOW Bella. This is very different from you and I love it.
I love this in a whimsical, Hieronymus Bosch meets Dr. Seuss, Seurat-esque, sponge-art kinda way.
Really cool idea. Blow cloud blow.

What a beautiful story, Bella! Now I am not an artist, but these illustrations are not done in your usual métier, right? I love them....not as well defined, dreamier....perfect. First the details and then the full illustration. You are amazingly talented and I hope love and song rain on your particular "mountain " every day. :)
