Illustration Friday: Popularity

Unfulfilled

Little Nikita kept a board of wishes.  Every time she blew a wish on a dandelion, she would write down what she wished for and pin it to her board.  She vowed to only take it down when the wish came true.

Hehehhe! I hope her wishes come true soon because the dandelion stalks will wither soon and may eventually fall off my themselves, I think. Hmn. I have a similar board except mine are not wishes but goals. The board fell because it got so heavy! Hahaha! Okay, just kidding. I love your drawing. I love your style. In fact I am not the only one who loves your style. I wish I can draw like you. I wish I have your FPOT. I wish I love like you. There, three dandelions. I have not seen any here in Manila or Quezon though. Have a great day. It is now 4:39AM here! Tsup!

Gah! ..fall off my themselves, should read fall off by themselves,

Aaaw Man! This drawing is sad. After reading the background, it should be HOPEFUL instead of UNFULFILLED!!!

I move to change it!

Change the title!

Pfft!

Beautiful! I love the huge frame and the huge number of wishes bending this way and that. (Except the part where none have come true. I hope some have at least an outside chance of coming true eventually!) Always such neat and clever illustrations at your place!

Bella-I am in love with this illustration <3

i love this & how you often feature the nice things about dandelions, which people usually rip out of the ground because of the seeds! hope you girls had a lovely valentine's day! xo, c

I love dandelions! This is so cute, but I hope her wish comes true so so soon... :)

So many wishes! Why are they pinned down? They should be floating away in a summer breeze!
Maybe these are very special ones that need to be held on to? I don't understand. But perhaps I am not supposed to understand. Just adore your wonderful world?! I wish I could join you in your creative mind. I'm sure it would be so much fun! HUGS

You are SO SPECIAL, your imagination, talent, humor. This is "far out" (as we used to say!)...exceptionally "BELLA"!!!

My (German) Grandma made dandelion salad, dandelion soup...and she would even eat them as we pulled them out of the earth. (I like more a slab of 'Hereford' grilled-and-seared, please!)

Hope you are as well as your illustrations suggest! PEACE!

Sweeeet....!! I'm glad some girls have high hopes. Hehehe...

Strangely, I make wishes on fallen eyelashes. Any ideas on how to keep them preserved? :))

Poor Nikita, i am hoping that she can empty that board because all her wishes have come true!

~ah i do hope really hope that if she is wishing for popularity hopeful she will come to realize it will never make her happy...it kind of sucks being popular...having relationships with false pretenses...not real friendships...may her wishes be fulfilled with only oodness at heart...so so beautiful my friend...much love light and blessings~

brandi said...

~ooppss...goodness...not oodness...hehehe~

OH, Bella, Nikita is so sweet..and this is so beautifully illustrated! As she is so dedicated, I know her wish will come true..and she is already popular with me! : ) Hope you had a lovely celebration with your kiddies and the box o' holey chocolates..sorry about that..my love of chocolate is quite difficult to control. : ) Love those little tags...ah the detail, Bella..you always amaze me!

I love how her little feet are crossed over one another. And her wish or wishes must be so important to keep track of. I do not know how you come up with these wonderful and unique ideas, because you are creative in such a charming way!

Does it count that I swear every time I pull one of these dandelions out of my yard? I wonder if I should start a little dandelion curse board...

It's not that I have a great lawn, it's mostly crab grass to be honest, but crabgrass is what I like. It's more fitting to my personality.

Anyway, this is a good one, Bella; it's a wonderful tribute to obsessive compulsive behavior.

Because there's nothing wrong with that.

Because there's nothing wrong with that.

Because there's nothing wrong with that.

O so sweet! I really pray that all her wishes come true!!!! She will not have to be sad then or feel there's something left to be unfulfilled... I love dandellions too. I have been thinking of painting one...should attempt it soon:)

Such a sweet illustration and beautiful, but then I would expect nothing less coming here!! Little Nikita looks just a little sad to me though - so many wishes. But she hopefully has a long life ahead of her where all of her wishes can come true... Hope you are doing wonderfully!! Hugs, Silke

Bella, at first I thought she was a little sad, but then I realized she was just winded. I mean, look at all the dandelion stems! This girl has been busy! Perhaps she could employ a small electric fan to help with wish production. You are so amazingly original! Happy weekend - xox

Hello! I just wanted to remember my first of two 7-hour layovers. It is a foggy morning at Incheon. I am eating sweet squid strips with my cup of mocha. What a combination. Hahahahh! Oh and one more thing, the men's rest room at Incheon is very clean. You know why I know. Hehehehe!

You know, Korean women are very attractive and charming.

What's up with the phrase verification? I could not see them at all in Manila, just an error icon.

oh that's just so sweet, I hope she gets to take them all down.
I always wonder if you have little things like this at your house!?!?

Oi, make all her wishes come true. She looks a little lost and sad.

I have a bouquet of unanswered wishes, perhaps the fun part was in the wishing....

aimee said...

oh! it may be sad, but i just love it, because who hasn't felt this way at some point or another? i love how your head can spin entire stories out of just one word.

Carrie said...

this makes me a little sad but I am hoping she made all those wishes in the last 5 mins and as soon as you captured the image, they all came true :)

LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm smitten with this.

I have a character called The Dandelion King. I find them powerful little metaphors.

This is great. I love that she is keeping them on a wall, sort of like a prisoner scratches days in their cell.

Wonderful stuff.

I haven't been on blogs (including my own) for awhile. It is so refreshing to see all this Bella art!
