Illustration Friday: Round

Row, row, row your boat.....
                         Row, row, row your boat.....
                                                  Row, row, row your boat....

I love singing in rounds, don't you?  What did you say?  Sorry, I had my fingers stuck in my ears.

Jeepers, where have I been?  In a food coma, apparently.  And then battling the cyber-crowds while cyber-shopping in the cyber-malls.   I didn't get to finish my drawing for this week's word, and I can practically hear tomorrow's IF word knocking on the door.   Ah well.    Snagged some pretty good deals, though.

In other news, I received a great surprise in the mail yesterday.  A while ago, I worked with the fabulous Caren Krupinski of Kdottie Designs on a personal project.  Caren had written a heartwarming and enchanting poem and asked me to help her illustrate it.  She put everything together into a little book and sent me my very own copy.  How wonderful!  Thank you, Caren!!!!

And finally, the book I've been working on with Donna Shepherd is still in production, but a coloring page is available here for any crayon-wielding kiddies out there.   Doh!  Don't color your computer screen.  Print it out first.  Gah.

Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! OH my goodness. This is worth the wait. Where to begin, where to begin...I am in a panic. Uh oh oh uh....

Donuts - I love donuts. I ever thought of sitting on mine and gliding past through a river of milk. It's ideas like this that sets you apart. The way you present an image, it is more than an illustration, it's a short story, everyone of your illustration is a prompt for creative imagination. Haaay, you are so very good. I can't wait for this to be in color. It will be one of my favorites, you and your epsilons...

The books, oh my goodness, they are so lucky to have been illustrated by you. Congratulations for great work. Well done!!!

Ugh! I tried to squiggle my screen. Thanks for reminding me to print it first.

Hahahah! You are too funny. I love your FPOT!!!

Tsup!

I will now squiggle my way to my dreams. Thank you for putting a smile on my face. Goodnight! TSUP!

sooooo cute, I want to see it colored :) My grandson brought home a construction paper turkey with the words written on it " Myles says he is thankful for spoons" So I imagine that he would love your drawing. Who wouldn't love paddling though a milk river with spoons and floating in doughnuts! Congrats on the book projects!!! They look wonderful. I love the cover of the poetry book and can't wait to see the other one :)

Bella...I love you so much that I am typing on an HP!!! My poor old Mac kicked the proverbial bucket. But I will type and try not to hit any weird keys (which I just did). Donuts. I have been craving an old-fashioned buttermilk one. Or a chocolate one. Or both. And those books! Congratulations! They look beautiful. :) I too, have been elbowing my way through the cyber malls. Maybe that's what killed my Mac. :) xox

your illustrations for the books look awesome. will they be for sale?

and, your comment about the toast with the heart-shaped egg on our blog was wow. can't believe you remember that! he's not that fancy, but will make an egg sandwich and leave it for me while he does the grocery shopping, which he loves to do.

enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations with the illustrations for two books -woohoo!
You have been busy.
You asked about our Santa wearing the big red suit... yes, you would think over here he would wear shorts and a t'shirt because I am sure he would have been sweating under all that warmth.

Hope that you and the girls are well and having a fabulous weekend

I never thought a boat could look delicious :)
Congratulations on the books!!

Amalia K said...

Hhm. I don't think rowing on a giant soft yummy donut would be safe for me...I'd probably end up drowning after polishing half the boat myself. But you are just too delicious to even think about these things in your head!

And the book? It's absolutely great news! You are just awesome, Miss Bella... oxx

Heeeeyyyyy... what happened to the wordy, informative comment all full of praise I left here right after you posted this one?? I swear I left it. Hmmmm... maybe I forgot to leave a wordy, informative comment all full of praise.

sorry.

That being said, I like this one very much, mostly because I know first-hand how difficult it is to stand up and balance on a floating donut.

Where can I get that book?

BTW, covering your ears while singing in the round is cheating. I wouldn't have allowed it. I would have sung even louder right into your ear.

Rubin Pingk said...

You kill me. This is so adorable (top drawing of gumdrop river)!

Then the lightning bug book? Radical! I'm a big fan of bugs in art (not so much in reality), especially fire bugs.

I did all my shopping online this year. Every last thing. It was great! Amazon is my friend.

Is it tomorrow yet? If not the I am early for the day after today :)

Bella this top illustration (oh I nearly said 'illo' aaaaaaaaaaarghh :) )

Makes me feel as though I am a youngish person reading a youngish person's book and that I have been transported to a youngish person's dream land where everything is happy and I get free food and my mum and dad are both alive and I get tucked in at night after a hard day playing with toy soldiers and toy boats and battery operated robots that go whrr-whrr-bang-bang and never run out of batteries

in other words it makes me feel warm and cuddley :)

whaddya mean your news wasn't great?
it's absolutement splendiferousicaso! as Mary Poppins used to say :)

see you

my word is 'dignede' which of course is what happenes to your legs after a hard day of gardening

Thank you so much Bella for leaving a comment on my TDAC competition page, really appreciated. I love your sketch for Illustration Friday, i definitely want to get a donut boat for xmas :) Congratulations on the book, think i may print off that colouring page now (for me to do later)! :)

Andrew Finnie said...

heh sorry about that I had a fit of sanity and realised the image of myself hung upside down by the toenails from the nearest willow tree while having three day old, boiled (but strained) cabbage soup poured down my nostrils might be enough to put anyone of their lettuce and egg sand-witches for a month :)

of course the fact that three day old boiled cabbage soup is a well known hair restorer used by the ancient Egyptians for years might have something to do with the sudden and unforeseen sprouting of neo nasal cilia I have been experiencing :)

believe it or not my word is 'wellme' hmm,

I am off to get out my pencils and do some colouring in, thank you :)
