The Brigade that Arrived Too Late

This was supposed to be for last week's Illustration Friday prompt.....uh...yeah.....

When Emma and I walk to school in the morning, we each get into our imaginary pods, strap on layer upon layer of imaginary protective gear, and then engage in fierce candy war.  We try to think of the stickiest, goopiest, most creative way to pummel each other with sugar.

"Candy apple mace!"

"Argh!  Marshmallow absorption shield.  Spun-sugar web!"

"Fredward!"

"Fredward?"

"Yes, Fredward.  He's my giant jellybean who eats your sugar web."

"Ugh.  Sour Patch Kids, attack Fredward!"

"Fredward womps them flat.  Poprock cannon with lemonade sprayer!"

"Arrgghghghgh, ow ow ow!  "

By the time we get to school, we are both a gloppy, battered mess.  Luckily, we have the gummy bear brigade to lick us clean so the teacher will never suspect a thing.

Have a spectacular weekend!

Now that's candyland!

I'm rooting for Fredward. That is what I call me son Fred all the time because his mother is a fan of Twilight's "Edward", thus I call him Fredward and I am sure he is just as sweet.

I love the detail of the shooting pez dispenser and the brigade of gummi bears.

I hope those are Haribo gummi bears. They are the best! (Especially fresh from Germany)

Hehe, now I am almost convinced that what you say in your story is true. I bet you walk to school a different way every day so you don't get stares from the neighbours (you know why they are called 'neigh'bours? it is has something to do with horses...)

well, Bella, just a beautiful work again. Lots of movement, lots of fun. I think the implied violence though adds drama :) I am glad I don't walk with you to school. I have only one school uniform left that fits :) Most of them the hem is too low...

:)

see you

My favorite still--is one in which you (I guess that little girl is you--grin!
