Seriously, again, The pattern of her dress is adorable. This is a beautiful illustration. I love the feet of your characters. I feel like biting them or sucking their toes. Yum!
Haha, hilarious! (And a little gross, if I think about it too long.) Such a great illustration. Love the pose, the tipping table, the great dress pattern and the fact his name is Walter. Really great job.
Wonderful! An awesome combo of funny, sweet and a little ick. My fave. I know I've said this before but I love how each of your illustrations are a story--fun and brilliant and gorgeous!
that walter is sure using what he's got! although, it seems her legs are still expressing themselves! looooooove to you, bella, from the depths of my sea! xox
Ha Ha Ha. You are very funny, my friend. And now also weird.. like me.
Poor Walter, he has fallen in love with the girl who talks too much. It's happened to me, but I've never tried the mistletoe from a fishbowl method to quiet them. I've never tried anything that actually works for long, better to let them talk.. more peaceful that way. Walter is smart enough to know that the mistletoe method makes it okay to get close, too. No girl can say no to the mistletoe method.
Hay those legs aren't fat, tjhey are curvacseous, or curvaceous I mean, well it's not often you have Ces speechless, I must say when I saw this I thought, oh dear bella really does have a dark side :) and then I thought Gee, Bella does have a dark dark side, then I read Ces's comment and thought .....
ahh this is classic bella, what a great artistic brain you have, this is a case of sticking a beak in where it is not wanted? love the mistletoe, so the dark side is winning after all? good ;0
the second word of course is a kung fu cooking school lingo eg When an omellette comes flying through the air and hits someone they say "what gatfu that?"
well bella, this may be your most imaginative so far, in an icky sort of way. beautiful illustration, even if it is of an octopus, on her face. shudder. :)
Hehehe...careful there, Mr. Octopus, she could make sushi out of you! Seriously, thanks for this, Ms. Bells. I just had a long rough day, and this just put a smile on my face.
Hhm. Maybe you should change your blog name to Bella Sinclair Doodletherapy.
Ah, star-crossed lovers, ships passing in the night, an endearing cephalopod mollusc and biped romance! I want to write a novel about these two - Smothering Heights. xox!
I am in class at CVI, and I was sneaking and looking at new posts... I actually laughed out loud! :O oooopps, then everyone wanted to know why I was laughing, so I showed them and everyone laughed except for one mother who said, "ugggh, why is it sucking the little girls face off?" I told her it was covering her mouth to make her be quiet. That made her quiet. Maybe I should get an octopus... ;)
LOVE IT!!!!!! Made me laugh and totally brightened up my day. Thank you Bella! Tee hee hee...note to self to carry octopus in hand bag to silence people...
oh ho.. clever walter!!!! I do love combining octopi' and houndstooth!!! haha.. the "Silent face sucking trick!!! her tiny sweet feet ...awww so precious!!
BWHAHHHHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHEEEHHHHSHHEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHHEHEHHHEHEHEHEH!! I can't stop laughing! This is stellar!!! He eh he he he he he he he he he he he! Okay I am crying over here. I have to leave to compose myself right now. I will come back when I have something good to say right now....................... he he he he he he he he he he hehe he he he he he he!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAA!!! That is awesome, Bella..you are a master of wit, and conceptual awesomeness. I love it! I've missed your fabulous work while I've been away. And oh gosh, I just love your 'stachio. : ) Hope you've been well!
Hi Bel.......DAMN! Will someone get this octopus outta my hairy face?
WHEW! Thanks, you with the scissors! WAIT! Did you cut off my mustache???
I'm glad this day is almost to end--but there IS no end--it continues right on as if, as if...starting over now:
Hi Bella! It's me, steveroni! AGAIN...to wish you a HAPPY holiday season. (Are we allowed to write 'the word' Christmas this year?)
1. Do not know if it's money or love which makes the world go 'round. I still believe the sun moves, and we do not. Lazy earth-globe.--grin!
2. What in Hades is serendipitous? Is that like finding a too-friendly octopus sucking on your face?
Seriously, I admire your talent SO much, I feel awkward, unqualified, even to say that. But your art takes me to a place of pre-youth, ogling children's illustrated books like Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin, that Egg-who-fell-off a wall,And the "Jacks" (beanstalk, Spratt, Jill's brother).
Good morning!!! We need all the octopuses we can find to suck the radios playing Christmas music, already!!! I heard my first Christmas song 5 minutes ago. Seriously!!! I love Christmas and will celebrate as soon as Thanksgiving is over but I hate these modern Christmas songs, especially when it is warm outside. Oh, I forgot. Last September, I saw some Christmas decorations in the mall when I was in the Philippines. Heheheh! Tsup!
i would love to know how you come up with your ideas! you are a born storyteller through pictures! what did she say, i wonder, when it glommed onto her face?
This is lovely. I really enjoy the dynamic of the piece. The little squid holding (mistletoe?) an herb above her head. Then the girl, on her toes like she is kissing a boy.
I think both these creatures need to get out more!
Sending you hugs and kisses and very best wishes my friend. I know it's been a while. Everything is happening and all at the same time and I am trying to rule the world he he he he he he! All is well and I do hope that you and the girls had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had lots of fun and lots of food and I don't want to see any food for a very long time you know what I mean. Taters and meat can be so very mean...... Yeah, I love you babygirl. Sending you a giant hug this morning. Tsup
Dear Bella! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I'm so belated..I apologize..and I have been having problems with my emails and see now that you never received an email from me re: Kauai! So, I promise to resend..links and all. I am wishing you a tropical holiday! Hugs!

Hehe, that poor girl. I wonder what she was doing, singing obnoxiously? Thanks for the laugh :)
Oh no, poor girl - I think I would be very frightened when an octopus would do that to me.
Lovely illustration (as allways).
Ha Ha Ha. You are very funny, my friend. And now also weird.. like me.

That's all I got for now.
i got to be honest, at first i was a little concerned. the mistletoe changes it all for me. and your words, you are so cleaver, I love your humor!

Did she eat the other cherry? I don't see it anywhere, she seems like that kind of girl.

my words are diculent and gatfu
the second word of course is a kung fu cooking school lingo eg When an omellette comes flying through the air and hits someone they say "what gatfu that?"
Why...I thought the six-armed guy was KISSING her. See how my mind runs. Also mistletoe was a clue?
Well...wrong again. But no problem--I'm used to it.
No comment on Ces' comments, although I'd LOVE to write my thoughts re those.
Bella your art work--AWESOME! Your sense of humor--unequaled. Your choice of sister-friend (Ces)--I don't believe either of you chose. God did!
Peace.
TSUP! (I'm no octopus--grin!)
:-D
I can see that she is enjoying it too (closed eyes and that raised leg, sure signs). Unexpected love! This is priceless!<3 <3 <3

Walter, perhaps slimy on the surface, is a total romantic at heart :)
sorry bella, that was my comment til i read it and found i'd used some other name! :(
anyway... the baby kraken is rushing xmas a bit, trying to 'legitimize' the attempted... bussing... with mistletoe?
ah, now i see... walter's NOT trying to kiss... just covering her mouth with his underside, using the twig as a ploy! :O lol
