This is so sweet, but it's making me a little sad because she looks like she has been walking for a long time and it's getting chilly, and she still can't find her dog!
the moths represent her unfulfilled dreams escaping as they fly towards the light. but, there's hope. she still has a sack full of more, which she can keep close with the close of her hand.
I think this is little Emily....and she met with a special little garden keeper that came out of the fog....
He told her to be extra careful with the bag of seeds he gave her....that they are very special and the wind might blow them away....
He said they were magic seeds.....seeds that little butterflies had to plant in order for them to maintain their magic....and so she knew the time had come to plant those seeds....out of the fog came the butterflies....all ready to do the task.......
what will happen next.....
you will have to illustrate the next page for that.....
lily, under the protection of a lily, let some of her pixie friends out of their warm bag, to scatter to the four winds to find her younger sisters, lost in the cold fog, and guide them safely back home, for some hugs, cookies and hot milk, to take the chill out of their wee bones
and promises never to stray off by themselves again...
Un joli perce-neige pour accompagner cette bien mignonne petite personne... Le printemps n'est peut-être pas trop loin... Les petits papillons batifolent tout près... ou simplement rêve-t-elle à lui en luttant contre le froid... gros bisous...
Hello Bella! Your illustration is so adorable and brings to mind the fairy tale of the 12 Months.. your little girl has been sent out by her wicked stepmother to find a snowdrop blooming in the middle of winter - are the scattered fireflies guiding her?
She managed to grab the antennae of the alien, but it was too late. He had already eaten most of the butterflies. "I really must explain things to him," she thought to herself.
Oh Darling!!! This is like a scene to a movie Bella!! Oh my goodness the effects! The effects! You are the George Lucas of blogs! I just adore this illustration. Beautiful work! You kindness is showing. You might want to pull it up cause next month is be Cantankerous month!! Oh yeah I know a bunch of folks that are waiting for that! he he he he! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing this awesome illustration! V
I think it's the middle part of the story. Something got her lost in the fog, and somehow she will find herself in the end, but for right now, it's hard for her to know which way to go. Or maybe that's just my life? :) Lovely illustration!
This is soo cute :) I love it, i love how simple it looks but yet there are so many small details. i really like the style and your character designs :D
hoho great bella of the '80's' shroom' hair..haha!
I don't care whats going on here I'm too mesmerized by the little fireflies... soooooo pretty.. the colors , the snowdrop.. her hair , her dress.. I'll tell you whats going on here PERFECTION !!!!!!
oooooow, I love the atmospheric effect and the glowing moth/lightning bugs. Moths that glow like lightening bugs are really cool because they would be attracted to the light of their fellow moths ;) I think they are leading her out of the fog where she has been lost and it has become too foggy to see the trail of pebbles that she was leaving behind to find her way home. She got the idea when her mother read her Hansel and Gretel. She thought she was smarter though by using the pebbles, but she didn't count on the fog. She became fearful and felt hopelessly lost until the magic glowing moths showed up to guide her out of the fog. ;)
Here we have a young reporter, moments ago wrapped up in the complexities of her very first man-on-the street reporting segment in which she is interviewing a rabble of butterflies to get their thoughts about the Fall lineup on the new Insect Network (on cable). Suddenly, a huge gust of wind blows in from who-knows-where, simultaneously blowing out her earpiece and blowing away her tiny interview subjects.
Okay I won't read anyone elses's as I dont want to spoil the fun...
The little girl's younger brother Brian has come home from school with, not only a bad case of head lice, but with the tip of his tongue stuck to the tip of nose - courtesy of an exploding tube of super glue that went off during his weekly facial yoga exersize class(very popular in some parts of australia)
He has come home in great upsetdeness, because he is having his first date with Geraldine Griselda from the year above him that evenining, and , though he does not love her, he does not want her to see his tongue stuck to his nose, because she will tell her girlfriend Betty, about it.
And Betty (second name kept secret) is his true true love. Betty knowing about his nose/tongue relationship would basically wreck his life.
So he has gone home and asked his older sister what to do.
And she has scratched her head, thinking, not realising that she has the worse case Pityriasis simplex capillitii in the world.
And so she has let loose a snow storm of pityriasis simplex capillitii, which has not only hidden her brother Brian from view, but has hidden his unusual case of nose tongue attachment from the viewer.
I think you have captured this moment admirably and with pistache . And I award you ten stars out of ten for image exhuberance :)
Oh you must read this story out loud, very quickly, and in one breath to make it make sense.
OH, to be a drop of dew that waits in the winters fog .. to release the magic of spring, and the wonder of it all... That my dear is the sweetest thing... LOVe that illustration... it just captured my heart!
The first thing I thought of...it's rainy and chilly. Soooooo, she was looking for shelter under the little flower and when she tipped it over, all the butterflies flew away!
Gros gros bisous
Miss Bella, I'm so happy to see the bees buzzing back into your garden blog...and me being one of them! :)
Now there's a little melancholic feel to this piece... I wonder where the little moths are journeying to. Are they carrying special messages to everyone? (^_^)
Loved seeing your lovely comments on my blog! Missed ya loads! oxx
Lil Missy is on her way back home with magical candies that would release her mother and sisters from a magical spell...She came to sudden halt...
What just moved behind the thick fog? Is it hiding behind the huge multiple armed tree? Will the dark emerge from behind to snatch her magic candies?
Manifold creepy thoughts hovered above her little head only to make look dazed and baffled. It could only mean power for the eerie thing. Just then the surrounding beamed with the radiance of the fireflies...they came out of nowhere as if to remind and to impart Lil Missy of the hope that she had lost at least for a few minutes.
Dear Bella
Amazing Amazing art! I loved it. And thanks for this wonderful opportunity to meander thru fantasy...
she asked her little firefly friends to plant the snowdrop seeds where they don't usually grow so other snowdrop deprived people could get to see them. The side effect is a sweet mist so no one knows the firefly magic that's going on, but the mist is sweet and tastes like vanilla. YUM! It's adorable Bella.
Oh! I missed your contraption Bella! Glad I popped over. Fantastic illo. That Emma is a genius and her mom is soooo talented. Love your scattered storyless fairy tale. Here is my take...... Leeza had no idea what was in the pouch that her wicked step-grandmother told her to deliver to Zory, the king’s wizard.
On the way to the castle, a terrible fog rolled in. Leeza was so scared. She couldn’t see where she was going. She stopped in the middle of the fog. Then she heard a voice coming from directly above her head. “Open the pouch. Open the pouch.” Leeza looked up. “Could the voice have come from the giant tulip?” She thought. None the less, she opened the pouch and magical butterflies with illuminating wings flew from the pouch and seemed to be asking Leeza to follow, but she was scared. “Go with them.” the voice came down again. It WAS the tulip! “The Flutterflies will lead you to your real mother’s home in the New Jersey where she is filming a reality show."
Brian says: "Itth noth twue at awe, I have nverth neverth everth hath my tongst stuth to the tipth of my node. Ever ever! Youth hearth me? I am tho upthet that I yam havingth a thithy fit!"
My word is 'stoling's' My word at Ces was "Lawdy and 'cards". I think google is trying to tell me a secret methage!
I will have the super energy drink only if it has a ton of fattening ice cream, chocolate please and hold the wheat grass please. I will sitting right there waiting for you too. he he he he he! LOVE You.
So lovely! I love that misty, foggy, dreamy business going on!
Hey, when I first saw the word "contraption" come up I thought to myself, "Bella will OWN that word!", and you did! Stupendous! That little Emma's got some of Mama's imagination, no?
OOOOOooo, I know! She is holding on and letting go at the same time. After the storm, she will gather up what is left of the old her, pick through it to see what she would like to hold onto, and take a big brave step into the new.
Thank you for all your sweet visits. **blows kisses** Deb
Oh, she looks so lost, but I am sure the litte butterflies will gard her to a cosy and warm place. I hope you are at that place right now too. Have a great night and Happy Halloween my friend
Right, I was reading some where a quote from you saying that "Ces had sparked you into doing more work" And my eyes are so bad that I thought that the fourth letter on the third word was an 'n', - and I thought to myself, I thought... well I won't tell you what I thought because it always better to leave something to the imagination
except I must tell you speco-usp is my magic word. :)
It looks to me like a little girl who thinks she has lost her way a bit. And yet, she has a deep knowing - that if she continues to walk through the fog, there is hope on the other side. And soon, she'll be growing and flying higher - but first, she must travel towards a place that seems unclear. And it seems to me like she has the inner courage to do just that.
Hahaaaaa!! Thank you SO much for your wonderful support, Bella. I have not visited you and I am so sorry! This is a simply stunning illustration - and might I say, it glows with a dreamy quality that is magical! I am hoping she has wished for something and has sent the wish on it's way...perhaps she is contemplating what would happen if the wish came true? Fabulous!! I hope you and yours have been well!! : )
When the fog rolls in the wishflower blooms. It's short life among the mist is not often long enough for a wishflower to reach maturity.
If the fog lingers, however, a wishflower can grow to full size. An adult wishflower will drop it's shimmering seeds into the mist where they will be carried away by mayfly's.
If you ever see a swarm of may flys in the fog, an adult wishflower cannot be too far away.
If you can manage, grab one of the shimmering seeds. It is said if you eat the seed while it still shimmers, your wish will be granted.
Don't eat too many, tho, or you'll find yourself wishing you hadn't, at which time you wouldn't have. A paradox is an awful thing to digest. . .
This is a GORGEOUS image. I think the snowdrop symbolizes spring, and the little lightning bugs are picking up every snowflake and taking them away, so that the spring can finally arrive.
Really, really loved your imaginative interpretation!

I'm feeling scattered too.
Love this!

Oh gee, I can't do these types of exercises. I am too old. Just tell me. I love her sweater and her boots!
Okay, maybe she is trying to find her way with the help of the fireflies and pretty soon she will be in the arms of her beloved.
the moths represent her unfulfilled dreams escaping as they fly towards the light. but, there's hope. she still has a sack full of more, which she can keep close with the close of her hand.
i love this illustration, bella.

I have a lack of brain power to come up a story but I do really love this! Maybe I'll come back with a story!
:)
It's always a good idea to have a bag of fireflies handy just in case you find yourself lost in the mist.
Beautiful illustration!
I like reading Diana's story.. can't wait to know what happens next (??).
This is s lovely artwork :) You make our imaginations scattered too.

Hi Bella,
The last little snowdrop for the season, and the cute one is following the fireflies home where it will be warm and cozy.
Enjoy your week

Bella, it's a beautiful illustration!
She's a magical spirit, who's needs the fireflies to guide her back to her domain, because she got lost listening to the laughter of earth's children.
What a delightful way to debut an illustration! You're the best! Ciao Bella!
I think it's the middle part of the story. Something got her lost in the fog, and somehow she will find herself in the end, but for right now, it's hard for her to know which way to go. Or maybe that's just my life? :) Lovely illustration!

Fantastic, simply fantastic
"Elanor and her firefly friends were no match for the fog pelicans."
Lovely work, Bella.
so charming bella.
if i were a butterfly, i would sleep amongst flower petals.... i think the wind came up and scattered them to the wind
i can feel the misty wind in your piece
Beautiful, atmospheric piece! I love the notion of the fireflies lighting her way home...
hoho great bella of the '80's' shroom' hair..haha!

Her car started smoking real bad and she's waiting for the tow truck?
No?
Well, excuuuse me for being realistic.
Okay.. I kid.
I think it's just beautiful like everyone else. Love 'dem fireflies. We don't have them here :(

This is wonderful, really moody and dramatic. She looks lost, more in spirit than in body.
Thanks for the share and have a great weekend!

It's beautiful and charming, Bella. I sense some wistfulness but that's there's always light along the path...whether we see it or not.
So lovely! I love that misty, foggy, dreamy business going on!

I see a group of my fairies!!! LOL

now all fairies are out and from now on everybody will see only happy dreams :)
Thank you so much Bella for all your words of encouragement to me!

Happy Halloween, dear Bella.

Right, I was reading some where a quote from you saying that "Ces had sparked you into doing more work" And my eyes are so bad that I thought that the fourth letter on the third word was an 'n', - and I thought to myself, I thought... well I won't tell you what I thought because it always better to leave something to the imagination

she lost her iphone...
Diana has the perfect story for your wonderful illustration!! Love it!!

This is a GORGEOUS image. I think the snowdrop symbolizes spring, and the little lightning bugs are picking up every snowflake and taking them away, so that the spring can finally arrive.
Really, really loved your imaginative interpretation!
Oh Bella! So dreamy! I love this little beauty.
