Illustration Friday - Warning

I had a dream about Andrew Finnie's enormous nuts. I tell you, it was as if after I saw them, they crawled into the recesses of my brain when I wasn't looking and hid in there like stowaways, secretly controlling my thoughts and actions. Would you like to see them? I warn you, though, his art will make you giddy and will leave an indelible mark of excitement and amazement on your very soul. And I promise, you will burn calories guffawing and howling at the hilarious stories that often accompany his pictures. Bonus. Ready to see? Then click here.

Okay, back to me. So in my dream, I was stolen away in my sleep by wee creatures that turned out to be, oddly enough, gigantic nuts. They dragged me to the forest and had me...well... my therapist told me to draw it since it's too painful to talk about. So here it is.

Now when I go to bed, I make sure I wear my giant red squirrel costume. Just in case.

SInce I do not know you, I will refrain from making 1000+ junior-high-boy jokes referring to your dreaming of Andrew's giant nuts.

(but can't help but think about SNL's Pete Shweaty)

As for your illustration- awesome as always. :)

I LOVE your leafy skirt. And your squirrly girl. They couldn't be any cuter. I don't know about the nuts, but I shall follow your link.

Is there a book of your art yet?? Bella?? :)

Ces said...

Oh my God. This is just too funny. However, I have to make my way out of here, so I just want to let you know that all the way home, I will be grinning and chuckling.

The illustration turned out to be another fabulous creation. I like her oak leaf skirt and the tree trunks look magnificent.

I love your nuts. Tsup! Tsup!

Ces said...

Oh! Love the giant nutcracker!!!

The first line of this post is definitely the best words I've read so far in months!!!! Not only it "crawled into the recesses of my brain", it also left me speechless and teary from laughing so hard. Well, wouldn't we all like to see them? No? Yes? (*O*)(6_6)(^_^)

Anyway, anyway... what can I say about your little piece other than, NUTS! You are awesome as always! Seriously, that girl is so sweet and graceful, I could eat her up! But then, I'm never surprised at what you can you, Miss Bella.

oxx

PS: Your blog just gave me a dirty word verification! I won't be tempted to tell you. Hehehe...

The leafy blurry background is just incredible! Very dreamy

Andrew Finnie said...

Ah what to say? :) :) well my ears were burning, but now I realise that it should have been my .... wacom :)

Bella, that is so kind of you to dream of my 'work'... see I am shtumblink over my keyboard. Humm :) Err, umm shuskc, everthing I write comes out the wrong way - how unusual for me for me for me :)

well your drawing, she is flying, suspended - dreaming, ahh I got it. The girl in the squirrel suit is so
wonderful. Just like all your work.

By the way, you made me laugh at work which is a difficult thing :)

I will be lurking

Thankyou for saying nice things about me :)

yoborobo said...

Without getting too personal, what kind of nuts were they? I mean, it matters, don't you think? To your therapist, if to no one else. HONESTLY, I have never met a bigger bunch of nuts than I have blogging (and it takes one to know one)! And now I am going to go look at a fellow nut, Andrew. I love your drawings. I say that every time I visit you! xox

Andrew Finnie said...

Thanks Pam :)

Okay dokey I have recovered, well she is a nutcracker, and a beautiful demi point she has, ahh the references are all gelling :) I can see clearly now, you have captured how loveley snd delicate she is, a shimmering contrast to the forest around her

Ces said...

I can't believe you made Andrew stumble for words... that is very unusual indeed.

Sarah Melling said...

Not sure how vie overlooked you on Illustration Friday before now, but I'm very glad to have found your wonderful blog!

Sarah Melling said...

That was supposed to sat "I've" not "vie". That's what I get for blogging after a long day with unruly second-graders. Sigh.

Rubin Pingk said...

I love that little outfit, the way the leaves are against the gossamer.

I love your nuts!

Very cool matted leaf floor on this one too.

Are you saying something by having the little girl strung up by a bunch of nuts? The Nutty Marionette.

I don't wear squirrel outfits to bed. I just keep a peanut butter sandwich nearby. That way, if they try and mess with me, they know what's comin'.

You can never be too prepared.
