i am also hearing a pull to be IN that picture, to be a friend beside them/in the swarm, this kind of swarm. i love this beyond measure. pure inspiration, artist DEAR friend of mine.
you are indeed blessed. xoxox
Whenever there are churros around (rarely in Italy) I turn into a ravaging ninja myself.
Lovely! And the light brigade is dreamy too!!
Brava, as always...
Ummm...churros. Another thing I miss about Southern California. Oh, and carnitas tacos! But I digress. I want one of those light ride-ons! Is there a weight limit? Maybe they come in supersize? You are, as always, amazing! Hope all is well there, and Spring is sprunging! xoxo Pam
Well, of course ninjas like churros! They can be used as weapons in case of an emergency. (BTW, what does a churro taste like? Never had one...but see the carts at the mall and giant theme park I live near)
And the second one? Best illustrated bit of Tennyson I've seen :)
Your swarm illustration are so super sweet.
This subject really inspires you, didn´t it?
Have a great weekend
Janine
those ninjas sure know how to make you smile :)
both of these are great! I love seeing what illustrations you come up with every week.
such a delight each and every time i visit here, bella! :)
still recovering from some bug... trying to eat for the first time since truesday... having toasted bagel, ham and cheese... washed down by glass of ginger ale... so far so good!
Your illos always slap a smile on my face!
Love the fluff creatures :)
Heather
OOH my goodness how MAGNIFICENTLYAWESOME!! Kick butt Ninjas! Churros! Can I have mind with a thick rich cup of cocoa please? Oh I am so hungry just sitting here with my tambourine thinking about it! Would you like to hear a tambourine solo!
And like I said before, NO! Bella Mae. You can't sit in my pew! First you go on and on with the pew thing and caused everyone in the choir to check their armpits cause they all thought it might be one of them. The old lady in back of us told my mama that I was misbehaving badly and my hat has dents in it from your slingshot!!! NO, NO, NO!!! You can't sit in my pew. We would have been laughing so badly they would have banished us from the church completely. You would have turned pink and I would have been purple and we both would have been laying on the floor jumping around like little worms. Rolling with hysterical laughter.
Oh Bella you made my day. I have to take some mortin I have laughed so hard at these comments.
Apparently many people know about this.
he he he he he! I love you girl.

(Yelling to Bella, high on the dandelion fluff ride.....)
"Can I rent the Ninjas to swarm my studio and clean it up???"
heehee!
Delightful.... ;-)
XXOO~~♥

Just the cutest little churros making ninjas I've ever seen! I think I'll keep my eyes peeled the next time I visit the churros stand.
Smashing work, Bells. Both ninjas and the light brigade. :)) oxx
OH my heavens, Bella! Such visual delights!! I love those swarming ninjas and churros? You are SO funny. I don't blame 'em..churros right outta the vending cart are delish. : ) AND, Charge of the Light Brigade..oh, they are pure magic. I love it!! My father asked me to handletter the words to Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson, and oh my, that was a loonnnngggg poem. It turned out (thankfully) and still hangs in their hallway. : ) I never know what to expect (except for sheer cleverness and awesome illustrations) when I visit you, my dear, and you have not let me down once at all. I don't think you ever could. I wish I were riding along with her..can I catch a ride? I'll be very quiet and nice. : ) Happy weekend, dear Bella!
ooooo, I love them both. My son, when he was little, was always talking about all his Ninja brothers. They were his make believe friends. I will have to show him this and remind him of it. It was so funny, he would do something or say something and then he'd run upstairs and then come back down and say, "that wasn't me, it was one of my ninja brothers". He had like 16 of them.
fly like the wind! thanks for your support this week. enjoy your weekend!
Since I was speechless I still owe you a tirade!
Oh, and which Mafia nut are you? The long one?
I love them! (*゜▽゜ノノ゛☆
Oh my goodness, not sure which one I love more.
as always, the little girl illustration is awesome. love the fluffy balls she rides on. :)
And I always thought those were num-chucks those ninjas were carrying. I guess ninjas get hungry for something sweet too. I love all your little ninjettes... so adorable..... Fantastic detail. And the light brigade is fantastic! I feel like I’m up there with you! Great post! Glad I checked your site before I headed off to bed... My dreams are always dreamier after visiting you. God bless.
I love churros... especially after a big helping of ding dongs! :o)
Hi bella amazing illustration as usual!!!!!I love to visit your blog and I am always waiting to see your next illustration!!!!!!
Yo tambien quiero churros!!!
Love churros...
oooh, especially the light -brigade..so so so so sweeet!!Bella, are you not thinking to make a book,if not with stories ,with lyrics? You have so many inspiring and full of poetry illustrations!!!
I see one little ninja got into the kiosk. No doubt raising havoc with the churro chef inside! Charge successful.
But I perfer the puffy, fluffy ride for myself, Bella! How often did we see that as children? Such fun.
oh my gosh
you are so much fun
both of these are so playful and fantastic!!
Awesome! Once again I am envious of your super creative brain. :)
Hahahahahaha! How about "nom-chucks"?
Bella,
I love reading your comments on my blog, especially the long ones :) I particularly liked your opinion and insight. That's very interesting about internet and real communications being similar, I had no idea about that. Thank you for your words
Heather
Okay. Where do I start?
Do I start with the polka dot fabric underneath the umbrella which adds a charm factor of about a billion?
Do I start with the awesome color palette?
Do I start with the fact that it involves churros?
Do I start with the hookah looking contraption used to sell the churros?
Or do I start with the adorable ninja littered about the scene?
I don't know.
But I know where it ends: AWESOME!
And the swarm of the light brigade?! Come on. You're not allowed to tack on something equally amazing to an already amazing drawing. It's just not fair to the rest of us.
I love it! She could hang out with my dandelion king. They'd get along swell.
My comments are probably just noise at this point, being the 37th or so. If I wouldn't have been on a business trip all week, I'd have gotten in on the ground floor of the kudos tide.
But: Bravo.
You know what I love the most about the ninjas? The two ninjas on the foreground, right, where the little ninja is trying to trip the other little ninja and the ninja clinging on to the bottom of the churros machine.
Also the striped legs of the fireflies.

My favorite ninja is the one on the bottom of the churro contraption. I swear I have felt that "barely holding on" feeling as a kid on the playground.
Bella captures whimsy with such ease.
Oh yes! That's the third one I mentioned. I loved doing that especially when something was moving!!! We even tried to do it under the firewood cart. OMG! That was dangerous. My friends and I could have been hurt if the faggots fell!
Churos and coffee for breakfast. Then for lunch: chocolate brownies and corn bread. Hahaha! There is no rhyme or reason to my culinary schedule today. These are just requests, plus I have to tackle the painting area. I am hanging pictures today not because they need to be displayed but because I have to pick them up from the floor. I moved the Baldies to the bedroom. I found space for it. I desperately need a large drawing space for this tree drawing...oh Girl Scout cookies!
Oooh! I forgot to tell you. Your churros drawing inspired me to draw a sweet memory from childhood!!! Oh yes! Clinging on to Tio Biro's firewood cart driven by a water water buffalo! The cart was loaded with stacks of fagots, from trees called "agho" because they burned fast and were used to start fire on wood burning stoves. Wow!!! That makes me smile.
I have not done this for a while, spamming your blog. Hah!
Have a good morning. I have to go and write an email. Tsup!
The first illustration made me laugh, but I just love your "swarm of the light brigade". Beautiful!
Seriously this keyboard jumps. Grrr!
Ah, I am so tired from washing all the vegetables. I just finished putting away the groceries. Goodness it took two hours. I bought a dozen doughnut, 6 filled and 6 with sugar. Those are my favorites too. My face had sugar! Hahahaha! Oh I also bought colaches. I made fresh vegetable salad, now I have to go and grill the chicken I have been marinating to serve with the salad and for wraps, later this evening. I have not done any art. Oh I dusted the sever and swept the floor and a painting and a shadow portrait got hung this morning. I am so tired. I am not used to hard labor. :(
Delightful creations!
Grilled the chickem, baked the cornbread, now the brownies are in the oven. Just missing the churros!!! Hiyah!!!
Okay, I am done spamming. I am covered with chocolate.
Tsup!
Tsup!!!
Oh my goodness, I am so full... Hahahahaha! Churros! I feel like Buddha! Wanna rub my belly? It's good luck! OMG I typed lick first instead of luck. Hehehhee!
I'm speechless!Love them:)
What sweet little lights! And who doesn't like churros?!!
Awe...... up, up and away, Bella!!! So beautiful!!! xo
Even though dandelions as weeds annoy me, I still find their 'flower's magical...like your Light Brigade is!
Hi Bella, How are you? I've been away from the Blogosphere for nearly a year, so I haven't visited in a while. But I have to tell you I am stunned, I can see such a progression in your work (which I always thought was soo wonderful anyway) It's fantastic!! Wow!
U R JUST AMAZING....*zip*
*SMILES*
I loved those ninjas, but when I scrolled down, I totally melted: that cute girl on those cute, white, fluffy...
