Illustration Friday - Afterward, ad nauseam

"Afterward!"

Lemme 'splain.

See, I was out walking the dog when I suddenly had this image of two little girls wanting to go back in time. And I thought, 'Hmmm, what would be the opposite battle cry of Forward? Would it be....Afterward?"

So then I started drawing this thing, and afterward I said to myself, "Hey dummy, the opposite of Forward would be Backward, not Afterward." Oh well, too late.

Afterward, my older daughter gave me such a look of pity and said, "Umm, yeah. You kind of messed that one up." HA!

What's that? The aardvark? Well, I just think they're cute.

My little one asked me to post this recent drawing that she's quite pleased about:

Afterward, I decided to add a few embellishments. Because everything looks better with laser eyes, in my opinion.

She's going to give me laser eyes when she sees this.

Laser eyes are fun.

Well I for one will never look at an aardvark backwards again, and those laser eyes, you are highly very funny and you too desrve from me a trip to the synonmym factory

Those kids just make me all clucky - which is a worry because I am past reproducing age (well you know what I mean)

ahh here it is amusing, comic, comical, funny, laughable, mirthful, risible

humorous
Sense 2:
curious, funny, odd, peculiar, queer, rum, rummy, singular

well I go for sense 1). I never knew you were 'risible'!

Talking of strange words, I'd like to introduce you to my magicj word which is of course "Ingsane".

Hmm, should be "inksane" perhaps?

In your image, apart from the kids body language that depth of focus effect just takes us into the land of whimsy

see you :)

I have been here all evening reading this and admiring your drawing. No surprise, I love it, of course, but I wanted to say something witty about the drawing but I just keep laughing out loud at the laser vision. HAHAHAHA! I can't wait for her to find out.

I think the idea of the two girls going back in time is genius and I expect a series!

TSUP!

Oh, byined. I had a bite of a burger and a slice of byined earlier today!

Better draw some eyes on the back of your head so you can watch out for those laser eyes!

Good morning!
Aaard!
Vark!
Gaaar!
Arrrgh!
Ugh!
Hahahah!
I love it when I am ready for work and have a few minutes. Visiting your blog reminds me of hanging out by the flagpole in the morning before high school classes. I sat down in the little platform with about four classmates and we just told each other funny stories.

Ugh! We had an awful looking school uniform for girls. It was this bright colored canary yellow almost ocher orange tinge jumper skirt uniform. I hated that color. I wanted muted colors. But we laughed and smiled anyway.

Have a beautiful day!

TSUP! TSUP!!!

I will use laser vision at work today! Hahahaha!

It is quite fun to see you playing with your daughter like this! And I love how she made fun of you, it reminds me of my son laughing hysterically when I did not know what 'cursive' meant! I think he even rolled on the ground.

Charming as always ms. Bella!

Krista said...

Oh, you are a bundle of fun! That is quite a dilemma, really, because if your aim is to go Afterward, would you try to go Forward faster? Hmmmm... Maybe going Backwards is better, because maybe, just maybe, you are closer to Afterward from Backward than Forward.

Either way, that Aardvark IS pretty darn cute, and probably would have also been my first choice to go Afterward!

Krista said...

You better set up your force field, those laser eyes are surely going to find you!

Hilarious, Hilarious, Hilarious! OH have I had great laugh this morning. Girly this was an awesome post. Excuse me while I dry my eyes. Oh man this is total awesomeness. I just love the lovely talented whimsical and fascinating brain of yours. It's magnificent Bella. Oh it's to funny cause I know that look you got from you know who. I've seen that look myself he he he he he! Which makes it even more funny!!!! The little one got the gift and she got it honestly too. I love those awesome rays. The same death rays that Zoe puts out when she wants something and doesn't get it. It's the kind I get when I wake her up at the butt crack of dawn LOL!!!! But see, what they don't know is, parents have special glasses for those rays. Don't mess with me he he he he!! I will never look at an Aardvark ever the small again because of you. And this is why I love you.
You are crazy just like me. he he he he!
Love you more then a pair of Jimmy Choos

Hmn...let me see. When was the last time tine was here? Seems ages... Did you receive the well hung knotted nuts I sent you with fungus? I think I will eat fajitas now. Do you know that people have fajita meat too? That is the muscle lining your rib cage. I used sirloin steak for mine, not human, of course.

BT said...

I like 'afterwards', much more fun than backwards!! Tee hee, you are funny. Oh dear, what on earth did she say to your embellishments?? lol. Crazy woman you. I love the Aardvark and girlie painting, just fabulous and it makes me smile.

Crud! See, these multiple personalities are creeping up on me! Ugh!

Thank you for the extra 500 miles. I hope the line goes through me because if it has to go from either you two, you will need a longer string,, around 1,700 from Vee to me and about 1,600 between Bella and me. By the way, going towards Bella, about 740 of that is just to get out of Texas!
