Illustration Friday - Old Fashioned

Theirs was an old fashioned love story.
Newlyweds in Central Park

This is a drawing created for a very special friend earlier this year. It was a gift for a sweet young couple who recently got married.

Wow, you guys really know how to make a girl feel good. Last week's drawing was a simple one, but I'm thrilled to the core that you were able to feel the joy that I felt while drawing it. Thank you!

Speaking of old fashioned, I've been listening to a lot of Pink Martini lately. This one's called:

Let's Never Stop Falling in Love

Enjoy.

I have to force Ray to be romantic. Hog tie the boy and make him sit through a "Girly movie" as he calls them. Never mind about him. This is marvelous girly. Simply MARVELOUS!

I cannot believe I am number 42!

Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky.
Happy, happy, happy, happy!
Beauty, beauty, beauty, beautiful!

I think it is a well known fact that anybody who receives a custom-made Bella Sinclair illustration is very lucky and blessed.

I will give up all my Christmas presents for a Bella Sinclair illustration. I am serious.

Ces said...

How come I am no. 42?

Barney Pfieff would say I am slacking in my officiousness!

I need to make up for this neglect.

Ces said...

Ooooh! A long wet tongue just licked my ankles!

Ces said...

Sorry for the distraction. A brown-spotted white four legged animal is distracting me.

Ces said...

Do you own a pair of those white gloves the Japanese women wear?

Ces said...

Are there people who sweep the streets in the morning, where you live?

Ces said...

Do you think I am addicted to your blog? Is it addiction if I visit your blog every day and sometimes just park my explorer screen on your blog? I really love it here.

Ces said...

Am I leaving too many comments?

Ces said...

I cannot think of anything intelligent to say. Hmnnn... nope. Nothing.

Do you ever notice yourself recalling past happy times when you are under a lot of stress?

They are like salves.

Soothing.

Calming.

Because of Ces, it took me three hours to scroll all the way down here. lol! I love this drawing. You have a knack for capturing innocence and well, charm. Maybe that is because you are charming? I'm betting that is exactly why! Happy mid-week to you! xox Pam

Ces said...

I am so sorry that Pam scrolled for three hours, soon she will be scrolling for four. HEHEHEHEHEHE! Good morning! Good morning!!!

I want certain times and periods to freeze.

When life is perfect and everyone I love is happy,

and my heart is content

and my mind is at peace

when the epsilons are safe and healthy

when The Viking is relaxed

when the rules flow

when Daisy snuggles

when my best friend is happy

when she and I are laughing

and loving and laughing

when the tears are of joy

when the rules flow and get triggered

when my paint brushes glide

when my pens squiggle lightly

when I close my eyes and I dream

even when I can't recall it

yet wake up with a smile on my face.

Good morning my dearest Bella Sinclair.

You are a life giver

a life booster

a happiness token

I love you.

Thank you.

Oh yes, old fashioned joy.

Bella, YOU have a pretty good think going here, too. Talent galore (on loan from God) color, and a heart which draws gifts for newly married friends.

Not that it matters--but I am IMPRESSED!

Ces said...

What's going on? I don't understand anything what you and the fiddleman are talking about. All I know was that my phone was vibrating my thigh.

steveroni said...

Ces, is that the same as if your thigh is vibrating your telephone?

"Hello? Please wait a moment, I'll see if she's napping...this is her thigh answering. "

Jack Foster said...

Hey Bella! I don't know how I missed your acrobat.... Love, love, love it! and now for your old-fashioned.... So touching and wonderful. I'm sure your friends were thrilled. There is nothing more romantic than an old-fashioned love :o) except when Bella captures is flawlessly forever in her work :o)

Ces said...

My thigh does not make sounds, nor does it talk. Oh wait, maybe it does. Hmn.

Andrew Finnie said...

Hello Bella, well how do you feel about being called 'clean and crisp"? Sounds like a packet of things that you eat at a friends place whil waiting for the entree... "Would you like a clean and crisp at all?" Oh yes, don't mind if I do...."

Okay my magic word is 'bubcom' and your job is to use it in a sentence. Toady at two thirty 'bubcom' stock skyrocketed after being seen at a post by the lovely Bella!

Okay, well I hate how you have made such a beautiful work in this and have made it look so effortless. How you have that wonderful dynamic assymtery, the loveley contrast between the square buildings and the arcs of the 'bridge' and have captured the essence of joy youth and beauty of the young couple, all echoed by the purity of the snow...

you know how annoying that is?

:)

beautiful work Bella! You make us jealous!

Ces said...

Wouldn't corduroy muffle the sound?

Ces said...

That's a lot of friction!

Ces said...

I am going to spend my time here tonight because my best friend told me I can no longer talk to her.

Mine is epers.

PS: So no blindfold for the fleas, huh? It's too late anyway... they're gone. Hhm. It's funny though, the neighbor's dog has been scratching and whining all day. I wonder...

Lovely Bella Sinclair, good morning! I am staying in bed, drawing until I can no longer stand the pressure and have to start cleaning. Hahahah!

Wordverif: Pormina

I finished cooking and putting the groceries away. I wrapped each vegetable and froze red bell peppers ready for cooking. I cooked chicken vegetable stew, washed dishes, pots and pans, wiped down the kitchen. Now I am drinking coffee before I tackle the living room. Save me! My art supplies are distressing me.

Off topic (as if ANYTHING is EVER 'off topic' here--grin!)

Bella, that corduroy sound: "Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp"

Oh back in 1930 I got my first pair of new 'cords', was SO proud--one-of-the-boys!--until that MOST embarrassing moment(s) when I walked into Sunday mass LATE, and had to sit up front...yep:
Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp
Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp
Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp
Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp
Bbbbrrrruupppp bbbbrrrruupppp

Uh. I think I am done with cleaning. I already washed and sanitized the vacuum cleaner. I am done with cleaning. I will now take a refreshing shower, put on my pajamas and sit in the clean living room, read something I saw earlier and then continue my drawing. epsilon I made dinner - barbecue - hot dogs and hamburgers. To the showers!
