Illustration Friday - Acrobat

Every time she saw him,
her heart did flips
like a little acrobat in her chest.

Just a quickie. Thank you so much for all your wonderful and encouraging comments on the saber-toothed deer. Have a great week!

Bella, this reminds me of one of the old original characters in the Oz series.....it wasn't the tin man, oh---I can see it but the brain is nowhere to be found!
Absolutely charming!!!
Ah--"Tick-Tock of Oz". Yes, the grey matter stirs! ;D

**swoons** How sweet! Just look at her face! How do you convey so much emotion in simple lines? It is really an amazing gift you have. Quickie??? Good grief, you have talent. **blows kisses** Deb

This is a neat style you have here. Very different and sweet. I like how the characters really bring the viewer in to the image. Nice work and style you have.

Mary Hall said...

Just delightful!

BT said...

Oh that little girl is so cute and so full of love and admiration for her 'beau'. Beautiful as ever.

Ces said...

You know what I think, your art has such a wonderful appeal because you have the great ability to illustrate with simple and clean lines, complex emotions and concepts. That takes a lot of genius to accomplish that. Others create illustrations with complicated lines that immediately impresses but in the end there is no message, so one is left with a very well executed illustration without meaning. Art after all, is how the viewer relates to it and yours successfully engages the viewer again and again. So yes, I am in love with your art and oh yes, I love you!

Tammie said...

oh my gosh, this is endlessly charming!!!!

Giuseppe Bianco said...

Every illustration should tell its own story and I love the stories you tell. So cute!

Caroline said...

Ah, the look of joy on her face is delightful! Bella, you've done it again - wonderful illustration!

Ces said...

A-hah! Simple lines are not the same as simple art. There is nothing simple in the execution of your art nor in the messages they convey. But what is mesmerizing is the fact that again and again they have the power to amaze and the more one looks at your art, the more one becomes in love with them.

I should know. For everyday I come to my office and am greeted by your art and I never tire of them, just more in love with them. By the way a gentleman came to my office this morning and told me about his art experience in middle school. He was apparently a terrific illustrator having won the top award in the state's illustration contest. He saw your drawings and was immediately delighted and asked if I did them. I wanted so much to say yes, but instead I happily told him that you did them. Remember Oz's drawing with the gingerbread man? Everyone who comes to my office likes that.

Oh I can just feel the joy coming off of this wonderful illustration!!! I am so right there with this child screaming, " DO IT AGAIN!!!! DO IT AGAIN!!!!!" WOW! This is a total treat the color and the design is all so fantastic. I always see the story in your work. You are a genius I tell ya! GENIUS!!! This just blew me away early in the am. Last night was wonderful and I hope I didn't crush you and Shirley with all the junk in my bag. How was it being all cramped inside my purse last night? I left yall some snacks. Some day old candy, a bottle of water and all the makeup any one girl could ever need or use. A few people heard the cheers coming from yall in my bag! Tori did! She wanted to get right down inside with you Ladies. Sadly they wouldn't let her.
Thanks so much for all your wonderful words and hilariousness Bella. It was a long day and somethings I will share with you trough email. Tori is a wonderful person and funny too. She had me in stitches. She is a cut up for sure. I tearful say, " Thanks my sister friend for cheering me on. I love you always and forever for it. You are the best!!!
Big hugs and Bigger Love,
V

Good morning! I made a salad for lunch today and surprisingly, I found another colander, just like dashing Roby here who continues to make that lovable girl give him googly eyes. Have a beautiful day darls, hahahahah! I have to share something today with you. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

tera said...

Yea! Have I told you how much I'm glad you're back? :)
I love this; I also think it looks like the old Oz characters. Lovely...

Ann Marie DiVecchia said...

Oh my!!! That colander cap is just perfect! He looks as if his maker did some recycling. Darling illustration!!!

Ces said...

Good morning!

I love Vee's comment especially when she says "Do it again!" "Do it again!" Yes, I can hear the girl saying that. Such innocence!

I love old fashioned friendship anchored in trust, sustained by love and and veiled in loyalty. I always wanted to be that kind of friend and it took me a long time to find a match.

Ces said...

Aaah! But I have! I have! And we lit a candle to guide our way and it is the kind of candle that you cannot blow out and it does not burn and if it melts, we light another one...

Ces said...

Yes! Yes! Yes! But don't tell anyone our secret, okay? It is rechargeable and has battery back-up power. Plus I carry a lighter and I am also a Girl Scout, so I always carry two kindling sticks to start a fire, okay?

Ces said...

Also, my caps and hats have built in lights, remember?

You know how boys are. We took on a ride in the phone cell. He loves all the wires and buttons and stuff he he he he! Oh Bella I am tried and need rest and that Is what I plan to do this day. Is read and study and do somethings for myself. Some people talk about they want to be movie stars and all. Not me!!! Oh dear Lord they way they dag you all about town hither and yawn! NO way man. It was funny cause come crazy fans of Tori showed up and they where asking her about gifts that the sent her and did she get them??? and she is trying so hard to be gracious to them. Some had to be taken away and asked to leave the store. It was crazy he he he he! I like it quiet and funny. Thanks again for you all your loving support and hilariousness. You, Shirley and Eric keep me grounded. Love you much girly. Kiss the girls for me.

When I want my heart to do acrobatic flips I just come here to look at your art. I know you always deny this, but there is a certain magic in your illustrations that gives not only me, but also it seems, the others, happiness unequaled by any other artist's work in the blogs. Pure joy and mirth. They keep going and going and going...

I could be that girl and the robot could be your art!

~good morning little lady...i am back over here commenting beacause a few weeks ago i realized that sometimes when i was replying to comments left on my blog they were really going into the land of unknown...see i am sure you are fully aware of this but there is not an email address linked to you so it comes up no~reply blogger...so here i am taking up a huge amount of space simple to share my thoughts with you...hope you don't mind...hehehe...thank you so for your heartfelt words yesterday...not many feel the same and or value a little thing...they say that things do not replace someone or make them come back nor are they a reflection of one...but sometimes i beg to differ...for me this is a shiny bright reflection of my father in law...it was his passion that kept driving him to perserve each and every moment before him...i am truly honored to have this piece and know when i hold it in my hands i will feel his presence...somehow someway...sorry for the ramble...was simple going to say thank you! wishing you much l♥ve and light upon you always~

does he still make her heart do flips??? i sure do hope so ♥
