I don't know if this is a joy ride or a daring rescue mission.
You decide.

Oh, this is definitely a rescue mission! So so sweet. Do you write stories for your wonderful drawings? I can see an entire book about each one...no hobby, no sir, not a hobby at all. **kisskiss** Deb

i don't know but either way, this girl & elephant are mighty brave.
it's really worth giving our all to beauty. & this drawing certainly is all that. xo

oh i just love the flowery central tentacles of jelly fish..

Janine said...

Wonderful and dreamy, you can be both, funny and poetic, what a gift you have got.
It is lovely, but I suppose my favourie of the last time is Hippity hoppity not even because of the robbers (hihi).
Have a great day
Janine

Marie S said...

OMG!!! It is a joy ride. If you want it to be joy you have to hang on tight to the jelly. Little girls have hands, but elephants have to get down real low to hang on.
I love this Bella and the flowers in the middle of the jelly are wonderful. Always choose joy!!!

The pink one (elephant) I have wants to meet you, can I send to the place you gave me before??

Ces said...

I don't care if it's a joy ride or rescue mission. I am just so enthralled by everything you do. These is the most beautiful jellyfish interpretation I have seen in my lifetime. I think I can die now. Ooops, cross the last one out. I still want to leave more comments later.

Truly, it is so worth it to wait for your next illustration. I would like to order a dozen of every drawing you have done.

ILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOU --

I LOVE YOUR JELLYFISH!

Look at that the translucent hoods!
Look at the lappets!
Look at the fl-ORAL arms --- ooooh did you think of converting the oral arms to FLORAL ARMS? You are such a mental ninja!
But where are the gonads? WHERE ARE THE GONADS! I WANT SOME GONADS.

This is the second time you drew a dress like that. That must be your favorite dress.

And the pachyderm, of course, What a cute trunk he has.

I LOVE THIS. I ADORE THIS. I ADORE YOU!

OOOOH My goodness YES INDEEDY DO! It's a rescue mission. Okay so I'm talking myself into that he he he he! Jelly fish KILL LOL!!! I would like to think of these little ones, so beautiful illustrated by my sisterfriend, as the soft swishy beautiful, non toxic, creatures in my head. Cause in my head Jelly fish don't sting. At least not the good people. They taste fabulous on toast and they sing! he he he he he! This is amazing. I love the way you think and I have to say," It's nice not being number 99 this week. yoborobo said...

Weeeeeeeee! I'm voting for joy ride, but maybe they can perform a rescue mission here and there on the way. You are amazing!

BT said...

I think she was riding on top of the jellyfish with elephant and slipped, that's why he looks a bit worried. The jellyfish caught her though and is giving her a ride to stop her from being scared. I love love love love love it!

Susan said...

Oh my goodness Bella, another charming masterpiece from you! Hmmm, maybe both, but like Ces says it doesn't matter, either way it's gorgeous! So light, airy and whimsical - I can feel the breeze and movement, of this little party, I want to know what happens next - I love everything about it and I love how your mind works! Can't wait to see what you cook up next!

Manon Doyle said...

Those are happy jelly fish. Very happy!
Funny...... jelly fish have always freaked me out for some reason. Whenever I saw them in the ocean I'd get a little scared. Yours are very sweet, however. I think they're on a rescue mission..... for sure!

Silke said...

Joy ride! Definitely!! I love jelly fish - the most amazing exhibit I've ever seen at an aquarium was the jelly fish exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was magical like something from outer space, like art in motion, like jelly dance set to music... Your painting is like that - a painted dance! Much love to you! Silke

Jack Foster said...

Hey Bella! I love how your work just flows. Those jelly fish are magically wonderful! It may be a rescue mission, but I believe she is enjoying the ride. Sometimes precarious can be exciting and fun.

yoon see said...

Bella this is best jelly fishes I have seen!

I really love this illustration and I most agree with ces.
The softness, the flow, the magical spell!!!!

I am so happy and what a coincident, I am making jellyfish illustrations and crafts.
No the right time to show and reveal all yet...
I will show you after I come back from temporary stop blogging period.

Thanks for inspiration but yours are the best!!!
I must say, you are a master in illustration.

I hope to send some to you this Christmas.

Andrew Finnie said...

Yes i agree, a daring rescue mission, drama, derring doo, and err drama :)

But seriously you have captured ethereal very well ...

now for the evil monster from the depths?

Up, up and away! Looks like another adventure for the Jelly-Belle

caren said...

I think it is an adorable daring joy ride! Sometimes little girls (and elephants) have to throw caution to the wind! Love it..........

Ces said...

Falling more and more in love with these floral-armed jellyfish. I love that F-POT of yours that would interpret the oral tentacles as a strings of flowers! a big TSUP! for that.

So, is this the Sea Party Movement headquarters?

Their hoods or bells are approximately tripple D!

theartofpuro said...

I don't know,bt anyway it's so delicate and perfect!Everytime I see your illos is as falling in a dream:)

Bella I don't know where you come up with your ideas! Incredible, really, I love it so! The jelly fish are just beautiful. I must admit to having a fascination for all things translucent. I adore the flowers and I so wish I could dream these things up as you do. You have such a creative mind. My son thinks of the most wondrous things too. I find myself envious of the way you think. So whimsical, yes, I think it is a joy ride.

messyfish said...

Looks dangerous thinking about that will smith movie

Ces said...

The absence of the gonads make it a rescue mission...

audrey said...

LOVE the jellies, the flowers, the elephant, and the little girl! PERFECT!!!

Barbara said...

If I hadn't seen the flowers I would have said rescue! But the flowers make it fun and that little sweetie doesn't look like she's been stung...
I think I like your sea creatures best, Bella, but that could be because I love all things in the sea! Stingers or not.

Peter Breese said...

Bella this is simply brilliant... just love it.

esque said...

He he, well the pachyderm is holding on tightly! I think it's a joy ride - the little girl is a dare devil!

Ces said...

Aaah look at that girl. She lives another day for a rescue mission or a joy ride. God bless her. She is beautiful and courageous and that elephant looks so anxious. I know that feeling - teetering with nothing to hold on for support - but LOOK! They both live another beautiful day in Bella Sinclair's Beautiful World. That's the name of your theme park in my mind. Have a beautiful day my precious friend. TSUP!

Karin Bartimole said...

Oh I LOVE these Bella!! it's joy joy joy, for me :) I've always loved the mystical etherial look of jelly fish, een though their sting isn't one I'd like to encounter - but yours look friendly, so I'm sure they'd keep their toxins to themselves, yes?! xox K

Love love love love.. Bella..hmm I wonder where I left my blog ? maybe it's under my pillow..

Holy crud!

"Individual Jellyfish are either male or female. The eggs and sperm develop in very colourful special areas called 'Gonads' inside the body wall. When all of the eggs and sperm are fully developed, they are released into the stomach and then through the mouth into the sea. In most cases, to reproduce, a male jellyfish releases his sperm into the surrounding water. The sperm then swims into the mouth of the female jellyfish, allowing the fertilization of the ova process to begin. Moon jellies, however, use a different process: their eggs become lodged in pits on the oral arms, which form a temporary brood chamber to accommodate fertilization. "

http://www.animalcorner.co.uk/marine/jellyfish/jellyfish_reproduction.html

Ces said...

See, those fl-ORAL arms are very important.

The Portuguese Man-o-war is not a jellyfish. It is a siphonophore - a colony of four distinct organisms performing highly specialized tasks but are dependent of each other. Thy are polyps and medusoids named after Medusa, yes! Iknew that Gorgon would render herself useful in zoology!

Ces said...

Nice word... limen - point at which a stimulus is of sufficient intensity to generate a response.

Good morning! Wake up jellyfish! Wake up! Jellyfish belongs to the kingdom Animalia and phyllum Cnidaria. Ladybugs, however, are Arthropods. See, I just read Linnaeus' book on taxonomy instead of the newspaper. You inspire me so much!

Captain Dumbass said...

I'd say rescue, unless the girl wasn't listening to the elephant like Doree and Marlin and she got caught in the tentacles.

I watch too many children's shows.

I say a thrill ride - you don't get stung on the top, right? At least that's what I learned frpm Finding Nemo! ;o) I adore this!

I don't think we realize in this day and age, how we have treasures at our fingertips yet we don't take the time to visit them...of course, there's nothing like the smell of a brand new book, but to be able to check out a multitude of good books each week without having to pay for them, well that's a treasure isn't it? Good for you!!! I'm SO happy that you have a watercolor moleskine...I know you will have amazing pieces in there..and I hope you will share them. I started painting again because of those moleskines..do you also have a travel watercolor kit? If so, they are awesome when you want to just pick up and go. No, Bella, I am inspired by YOU! : ) Have a wonderful Sunday, and thank you for your super kind words..right back at ya! Smack!

You ain't hardly kidding girly. We are sisters from different mothers, but sisters none the less. We like all the same things! It's hilarious. I would rather buy an old rare children's book with fabulous picture then a new pair of shoe. you are right , I wear the same dang shoes every single day. It's horrible to some I guess. Oh Bella this Piccola book is so awesome I can't stand it. I asked hubby to purchase it for me for mother's day and He said he had his own ideas for mother's day so I brought it from myself he he he he he! I'm going to post the picture so you can see. Hope that you are doing well and that everything is good with you, Still looking forward to your trip. I send you lots of love and hugs!
