To market, to market, to buy a fat....pachyderm?

Thank you for your sympathies for my spine. I'm up and about, but I have been banned from the tennis courts for a while. Probably more because I suck at it, though.

This is a doodle I did for Illustration Friday's Perspective a little while back, but did not get around to posting it. If anyone knows where I can buy a little pink elephant, please let me know.

Have a wonderful week!

Lovely! Great news about your recovery. Where to find pink elephants, you say... why, in my closet, isn't it obvious?

Ciao muse,

Oooooo, love those two! I love the jaunty spring in his step, carrying her on his back, I love the little pink elephant, the perspective, their happy faces, the colors, just everything about your illustration! Glad you are feeling better... As to pink elephants, I hear they are very elusive, especially being tiny like this. Sometimes the hide behind couches, but I've also heard of them living under big ferns in the forest...

Love, Silke

I didn't realize you were suffering with a bad back. That is one of the worst kinds of pain. I am glad to hear you are on the mend and I hope it isn't long till you are completely better.
I'm off in search of a pink elephant....

haha.. I want to be hanging out with them.. all jaunty, joyful and 'swingy'.. that ridiculously CUTE wee elephant looks like he'll need his sea legs!
Ah the addition of rain drops and puddles don't bother these two.. they just have an excuse to carry the coolest umbrella I've ever seen!!
From my PERSPECTIVE this is the winner of perspective!!
Look how that fabulous little lane narrows back down between those stalls jammed packed with goodies!!! yay Bella!!

Oh, Bella, I would love a little pink pocket elephant so if you find one you must let me know so I can get one too! ;) This is so cute! Hurt back = more drawing time, this is how I always try to look at it when my back is bothering me too much to do other things; Cause back pain is a pain in the butt!

yoborobo said...

Hi Bella! I am glad your back is feeling better. If someone told me I couldn't play tennis, I would throw a party, drink too much champagne and see pink elephants. :) But then, I don't love tennis much. Your drawing is so charming. I find myself wanting to jump in, and walk along. Maybe I could carry that fabulous umbrella! Take care - xox Pam

A gloriously happy drawing Bella. So glad you are up again.
Somewhere in the distant recesses of my wondering mind I have seen such a creature for sale although the pink was not the gentle pink of Celeste and Babar but a ghastly screaming shade unbefitting to such a regal animal.

laughingwolf said...

wowsers! love this piece :)

Wow Bella, so glad you posted this, it's adorable! I just love your characters, they are so full of love and fun and these two are no exception - what joy, even the rain (which it's doing now here)isn't dampening their spirits! I'm sure finding that lovely pink elephant is helping the mood along too, as soon as I find one I'll let you know! So glad your back is on the mend - defintely stay away from that tennies court and eat more strawberries! I have arthritis in my back that acts up a lot, so I know it's rough. Take care of yourself and stay well - have wonderful week too! Susan

I am glad that you feel a bit better.

Your lines put me into a deep trance. I feel like I am floating, no sound, just the sight of your beautiful art. I am surrounded by majestic fruit stands that will continue to exist long after I am gone. Your art transcends. I feel liberated, empowered, ridiculously energized.

Tell me, you wonderful woman, how did you ever come to possess such powers. You take me to different lands, different eras with your pictures and your words. I feel like a time traveler whenever I come here.

I would very much like to become your best friend, your muse, tickler of your fancy, cradler of your big FPOT, the one who adores you. Won't you say yes?

The best remedy for a persistently sore back is a super slow relaxing swim...The pink pachyderm illo is really an 'ace' from someone who is currently banned from playing tennis.

Some cool wildcard stuff this cute illo is ;)

Ces said...

I have to break my own rule because I cannot stand it anymore. Elephants are not supposed to be caged and elephants are not supposed to be shaped and molded like bonsai.

Elephants are
humongous
among us,
gigantic
and some are pedantic,
masters of altruism
and don't dwell on schism,
are social
and loyal,
above all
they stand tall.
So no cage
for it will elicit rage,
And I say
it's totally gay,
I think
of pink.

Valerie Lorimer said...

This is just charming, Bella! If you find out about that pink elephant, let me know.

oh,dear Bella, just come to send your ''bacci'' back:)))I cried also when I saw''G.o.ff''...is such a tragic story(even more tragic when you think about is a real one)I saw it first by ''accident''and just get blocked on the screen because is not a scenario you expect from a cartoon, few year later..I mean from 2002 a friend in Paris told me about the novel and i imediatelly made the conection with the cartoon, she took the book for me from the local library and i started to read it in the Paris-Bucharedt plane(so,the book traveled''illegally ''outside France-she got it back next week when she came to Bucharest)
When I saw the movie second time I started to cry even before the action really started, was necessary actually to leave the room and recolect myself cause my friends didn´t knew what´s the story about and what´s wrong with me...
I think the cartoons have the power to say more than classic movies...don´t know if you saw the recent''Walz with Bashir''-also a war-cartoon...trully toching
OMG I´ve wrote so much!!
kisses and best of wishes
