This is so funny. The creature looks like it has been overfed. Hahahhahah!
What is not funny is the injured back and I hope dearest Bella that you are truly on the mend and taking care of that precious musculoskeletal system of yours with rest and exercise regimen.
Tsup!
P.S. The word verification this time is much more sedate.
Hope that someone been feeding you strawberries too Bella! Glad to hear you are on the mend - can sympathise as I have pulled a muscle in my back too - ow! Cute and original illustration!x
This is adorable Bella! Poor guy, and poor you - I hope you're getting fed strawberries and more, like chocolate for instance! So glad to hear you're feeling better, take good care of yourself. Thanks for your lovely comments as always, and thanks for reading that interview, I'm surprised anyone read it!
You're sense of humor or poignant words always make my day! Have a great one, preferably pain free!
It's a good thing Em is with me. She heard me choke. But she did not really do anything. She just looked at me and rolled her eyes, perhaps because there was a laptop on top of my abdomen and I continued typing.
Oh, Bella, how cute! That is one large creature and how sweet that the little ones are making sure it has nourishment. I enjoy your illustrations so much. Back pain can be unbearable. Glad you are feeling better. Happy St. Patrick's Day, Bella! ♥ audrey
I have felt just like this Bella, I hurt my back years ago, had surgery and it flairs up now often. So I can definitely empathize with you. Glad your feeling better.

Oh my, that is the cutest, hugest, subterranean critter... and I just KNOW it's living underneath our patio because this winter every time it snowed, there was one spot that melted instantly - the snow never would stick there. Inches would fall and pile up and this one spot would melt. My husband said, there must be a whole den of chipmunks huddled together, but now I know the truth. I just hope he isn't too big to get back to the surface now that spring has sprung.
I am glad your back is better. There really is not much worse than back pain - that pain at the core of the body stopping us in our tracks. Be well my friend, xox
hahahaha....this is so so cuteeeeeeeeee....I love the two of the girls...one looking and one feeding...what a sweet piece...and I love all the things that come out of your head...

Yes, I have my stash o' Trader Joe's Gingerbread in my cupboard..I bake one every week and eat a slice everyday..my little goody with my cuppa every morning. Okay each and every time I look at this illustration it speaks to me. I get the complete and utter giggles. I keep thinking will this be me when I am 120 years young??? Will my family understand and know that love food so much that they will feed me when I'm 6 feet under??? he he he he he! This is sheer hilariousness! In every single way it's just prefect. I can still here Eric laughing. He loves this!!! He and I both agree that only a brilliant comedian like Bella could come up with something so off the wall fantastic. You are a HOOOOOOOT!!!
your artwork is so lovely! i am so happy to have found your blog:) i hope you are feeling better. it's always amazing how our artwork connects to daily life. thank you for sharing your art. best wishes to you. xoxo, juliette

Can you imagine anything doing anything 500 times a day? Oh my. I can't even do anything 5 times a day (except for eating - perhaps that's even 7 times a day? yikes...small portions, though..don't worry.) : ) Have a good one! Hugs to you.

That's what i think I;m ..gonna do now.."SOMEONE GET ME GRAPES".. hmm.. no ones coming... hehe.. Love your work Oh precious one as always!!FABULOUS!!!
I'm so glad your back is improving. Having suffered with back problems for years, I know how debilitating it can be. I love the wee thing underground! And the gorgeous illustration atop. Fabulous
Hahahaha! Someone sounds like she has tardive dyskinesia probably due to prolonged sitting inside a closed space! Hehehehe! I am glad I am not the only one who cannot type.
Good morning! Good morning! It is a beautiful day. Stop eating those strawberries and get up. It is not good to lay on your back for more than 48 hours. You should at least roll over and lay on your stomach. It is a little past 9 AM here and I kept my word. I will stay in bed. I wonder if I can stay in bed all day. Oh the clouds! I have to look up.
Thanks so much for your visit Bella, you are such a sweetie for asking about the parade too. I should have pics posted in a few days. Glad your back is on the mend, what fab girls you have!
Oh Bella, I think I love this one even more each time I visit. Rosie the box turtle is not large at all. She is accident prone...falls in the pool, in the pond, upside down. Now that I think about it, she's really a lot of work! **kisskiss** Deb
Dear Bella, just stopping by your beautiful world to tell you how much I love your visits and comments!! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! Much love, Silke
P.S. Yes, of course, I'm always eating something yummy - an almond bear claw at the moment...
Ha ha ha ha !!! This is so funny and reminds me of how I felt the last days of pregnancy. I'm so happy that you are feeling better. Your style is so delightful! I enjoy your drawings so much!
Oh, I am sorry to hear you were not feeling better! I wish I had someone to feed me strawberries when I am laid up with pain! LOL! Gentle hugs to you, my friend! ~TattingChic ♥
I heard you knocking and I was in the ladies room. If you come back I'll open the door. Please bring your jacks, can, Barbie dolls, jump rope, and your operation game. I'm provide, the Hawaiian punch, the jiffy pop, and my hula hoop. Be there or be square!!!! I love you sOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I hope this will never expire. Truly.
Oh Bella, I am CRACKING UP...what do those darned word verification things mean, and WHY do they come up like that sometimes. You are nowhere near one of those! Too close to other words isn't it?!
Anyhoo..you are so sweet to stop by..HAPPY SPRING to you and your little ones. I hope you saw some sun and got to great the new season outdoors for a bit. We have crazy lovely weather over here...yes, I'm spoiled.
Ahhhh..thank you for your kind words. I woke up with her in my head. I must now get to work...I'm doing something more detailed now..so I may become a hermit again. Oy.
Well I just finished cleaning up the dinner party and on the table, overheard were the following:
"That is a drippy one. I don't like sucking the drippy one."
"Oh this is a big one!"
"Here suck the big one!"
I have to tell you the rest later. OMG what an eye opener for some young 13 y.u. boy who came to visit and found the girl's family host an impromptu party. It's never dull in here. The adults are still here and I am in dire need of ice cream after dancing to Annie Lenox singing:
"You hurt me, I hate you!"
The word verif reminds you of what you need. I am sending you a matted hairy nut.
Your talent is incredible. You have the power to mesmerize, tease, cajole, soothe, comfort, tickle, humor and induce one to deep introspection. I feel like a psychiatric patient with all these conflicting emotions and directions. This illustration is both lighthearted and heavy at the same time. Lighthearted because it cheers the human spirit, heavy because that creature sure is a big fatty!
Jokes aside, I wish you a speedy recovery and may your back be fully healed and may you be surrounded by your beautiful girls who love you and give you endless source of joy and happiness.
Reading through your blog, I sense a deep appreciation for you as an artist and as a beautiful loving soul.
Good luck and good health and may I please ask a question?
Is it alright for me to visit you everyday and say hello if I so desire? I do not wish to make your friend Ces jealous. I really think you and I will become great friends.
Hi Bella! How cute is that image :) I visit often but it always seems I think to do it first thing in the morning just before I need to rush the boys out to school (just like this morning), but I remembered to come back today! You see by the time I read all the wonderful comments I'm simply left with no time LOL! Feel better soon, Andrea

Such a comfortable and happy life. Hey, get up and exercise.
Over feeding your underground unconscious. This is wonderful Bella - all three: the feeder, the fed and the observer. Wonderful red strawberries, too.
Beautifully done and wonderful story behind it!

Good morning. I wish somebody would feed me strawberries, chocolate coated , preferably.
I just tried eating a strawberry like that, not chocolate covered though, flat on my back and I almost choked.
this is cool! love every single detail you have rendered there.
wish you a speedy recovery for your back!
It's a good thing Em is with me. She heard me choke. But she did not really do anything. She just looked at me and rolled her eyes, perhaps because there was a laptop on top of my abdomen and I continued typing.
This is my lucky morning. Have a great day.
Hi Bella! Your work is so interesting, your picture very seems like on Diana Evan's work:

But I loves it when you calls me seemingly dirty names. But only you and no one else.
...and sometimes I comment to see if I get a wickedly filthy word verification and I think blogger knows it's me because it does not disappoint.
Case in point. Word verif: priapis
HAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG this is hilarious. It's typographically challenged.
I hope you were pampered while you were on your back Bella! Glad to hear you are doing better. If hurting your back inspires you to create such wonderful works of art, maybe you should start a moving business :o) This is so funny and cute and brilliant and great and.....
incredible work, bella! glad you are all better now.

once again, brilliantly done my dear!
So I want to know if you did get pampered while you were on your back. Hmn that's an oxymoron hehehehe. I am curious, how did the creature go to the bathroom? Was there a catheter of some sort? How will that creature emerge from he hole? That is a big hole but it cannot survive. Inside that hole for a long time. I want a continuation drawing. Hahahahaha. Please do it. You won't want me to do it. Hahahah. Haha the word verif is "unsityouas"
That is just too funny! Great concept and composition, as always.

That mischievous girl that is just checking you out through the spyglass is a feisty personality!
That poor guy is trapped and under observation forever if the little ones keep feeding it. So cute though. What if they get bored with it? Will it have to stay until it loses some weight?

Oy.
Have a lovely week ahead, Bella! Hugs!
This is so cool! Love the telescope!
Glad that you're better.
I really love this. This illustration speaks to me. I can feel the love it conveys. Oh Bella, you are fantastic! Have a wonderful day dearest Bella.
Feel better soon,
Andrea
