Roll Out the Red Carpet

Ces and her Oaks

"It's just squiggles and lines," she said dismissively.
"And Seurat just had dots, " I said.

I received several awards recently which mean so much to me. They each represent sisterhood. Two of them were created by my dearest sisterfriend Ces. Is there anything closer than a sisterfriend? If there is, she would be it. She offers me her hand, and it is always full, never asking, only giving. When my life took a difficult turn, she was there to gently nudge it back on course. Her squiggles and lines have intersected my squiggles and lines, and now they are inseparable, indistinguishable. She makes me laugh with her playfulness and cry with her generosity.

Ces created the following two awards:

The Deborah Award was created to honor a dear sisterfriend who is forever blowing kisses – “poet, friend, not just a mother but a soldier’s mother, too. Oh, the sleepless nights, the anxiety and worries, yet she is perpetually pleasant and cheerful, kind and gentle, diplomatic and tactful. She exudes courage, hope, and faith."

The Arija award was created to honor another sisterfriend: “a thinking, seeing, feeling, loving person who celebrates life every day. She is an artist, a photographer, a fascinating woman with great sense of humor, wise and thoughtful blogger and a loving and caring friend."

The Friendship Award was created by a new and wonderful friend, Kathi of Beautiful Mini Blessings. Kathi creates incredible miniatures and is in the process of renovating a dollhouse as masterfully as any craftsman-carpenter on This Old House. I am currently in the process of willing myself smaller so that I can live in one of her creations. On friendship, as she so gracefully put it, even though we may be far apart we are close at heart. This award is for someone who has inspired you or brought joy into your life.

I would like to share these awards with the following ladies who bring me joy and inspiration and who enrich my life. Thank you so much!

OMG! Your drawing is so beautiful on the screen but it is even more beautiful in person. Thank you! It is one of my favorite treasures. In fact all your drawings are my treasures.

You are generous in words just as you are generous in spirit and love.

If I were to ask myself why I spend so much time preparing posts in order to blog, all I have to say is that I have found you, and "wonderful" does not even give you due credit.

You inspire me. I could just draw for you and that will guarantee me happiness.

It is a thrill to see the Deborah and Arija awards making the rounds and seeing them awarded to gifted women.

This is what I like about blogging. Meeting women who share my interests and speak my language.

Dearest Bella,

You have brought so much laughter and joy into my life with your drawings! Thank you for the special one you did just for me! I absolutely love it and cherish your kindness!

You have also introduced me to Ces. Her "squiggles" are exquisite! Both of you have inspired me and spurned my creativity.

Creativity is what makes each of us unique. Thank you so much for being my friend and for these beautiful awards!

Blessings!
Kathi

Bella Sinclair said...

You all are awesome.

Hey, Shirley, dang! Maybe there's a Fiesta mug up there in the leaves. See, that's why Ces is the master. She can hide a million things in her work. Things like that just don't come to my mind fast enough.

Bella the drawing is so wonderful and you are a true friend.

Now as far as Ces' wrist goes, if she won't listen to you, she won't listen to anyone.

Great picture dear one.

Love Renee xoxo

Ces said...

Thank you for the concern my dearest sisterfriend. It's no big deal. I knew how I did it last night. I was terribly reckless and lazy last night. It was not even the drawing. So chill out. You know I need my hands for other things like eating peach ice cream!

Ces said...

Sorry I just lied. I was not lazy. I was obssessed. I can't help it. Hahahahaha!

Just kidding. Everything is fine.

Bella, you are so deserving of all of this love! I just wanted to add my love to you and to Ces! Wow, what a woman, what a woman! Have a wonderful day. Peace to your thoughts.

Bella my dear friend you give me such comfort.

I hear all that you say and I understand.

You know the funny thing is with the cancer I have never felt like a victim. Never. But loser, well that I struggle with. Almost as if life is this big sideshow and I have been put to sit on the sidelines. Weird I know.

And yet, if anyone thought they were a loser because of an illness I would be like that is crazy.

And to you dear one and on this blog where I state my truth never fear that I will say fine. That won't happen.

And to be honest, maybe saying to people fine is a way for me to shut the conversation down with them too.

I love you and you always know what to say to me.

Love Renee

p.s. I love you more than Ces.

Renee said...

That must have been a freudian slip as I wanted to tease Ces and say I love you more than Ces does.
