Oh my God Bella, I love this. It almost feels like me sometimes. Not that I am walking above everyone, but like being on a tightrope and walking alone.
I love it. Super gorgeous.
But I love you best (now that the cat is out of the bag). har har
Bella, another brilliant piece. I love enlarging your work, just like Ces', and finding all the little tiny details, how each roof has different tile and the almost hidden details. Again, you try to disquise your brilliance in sweetness...but we all see it. **blows kisses** Deb
This looks so fantastic! I love the way you've played with the bright red of her coat and the 'grey' in the rest of the illo. May I ask: is it done in watercolor, or with pencil?
Not only am I walking on a tightrope, I am all tangled up and hanging with the rope around my neck. I can't see all the details, I will have to look again tonight. - love this drawing, may I please purchase a print? This is so apropos for my life right now.
Sweet!! I love the red coat and the one single red flower on the thatched roof! Very Nice Work Bella. Hope you and your girls are settled in your new home! (((Hugs)))
Now dear Bella you may have opened a can of worms and our girl may climb on this skinny rope without the umbrella after hearing that you love me more than her.
Bella, I can't stop staring at this gorgeous illustration! And when I enlarged it, what a delight to find that little flower on one roof and the pachyderm on another... And the little girl - I think we can all relate at times - she looks so confident. She looks like she doesn't need the tightrope at all - I bet she could fly... Love, Silke
Wow, thanks, y'all. Truth be told, I wasn't too thrilled with this one, but you've made me feel so much better about it. I wish I had the time to respond to each of you individually, but time is short. :(
AtelierBrigitte, it's just pencil that was digitally colored with Illustrator.
That is amazing...LOve Love Love Love the picture. I believe everyone has that feeling of either walking life's tightrope...The title of walking the line of feeling skinny and NOT..me lately...
Bella! this is so not diletante! this is real real good sh.. stuff! for real. i love the roofs. love the little girl who looks even smaller somehow love the air love it all
i was so surprised to read that you weren't thrilled with this piece - i think this is one of your best yet. not only are the composition and colors perfect, it's one of those drawings that can be interpreted in a thousand different ways depending on who you are or where you are in life. oh, please open an etsy shop, won't you, and make this your first print?
p.s. if i could live in a little town like this, i would risk the tightrope walk!
oh MAAAAN do i love this!!!!!!! makes my heart pound just looking at that precious little girl with the precious teeny tiny feet. i am sooooooo afraid of hieghts!! i'm glad she is carrying the umbrella...i'm sure she will land her safely if she would happen to slip. lol!
oh wow Bella!!! this is breathtaking...what a wonderful piece ....it is so strong and so clver!!! I think we all walk on tight ropes once and a while...when we finally get to the other side we can breathe again...and are stronger than before!!!
Bella, this is an absolute beauty. I think most of us have done the high wire act at sometime in our lives, but only you could turn it into a poignant statement of hope. Thank you you wonder and delight.
This is the best interpretation of skinny I've seen!! Clever and cute at the same time - love all the details and your use of little accents of colour.
Dear Bella, I have read all your post taken the time to check all the illustrations. I had found your blog time ago, but never had the time to check it out carefully...now that I have no posts left to read I feel sad: they are so fabulous and your illustrations so amazing that I think I'll never have enough! Thanks for being so fabulous. xxx
Beautiful illustration Bella and very poignant. The detail is truly amazing and must take you ages, well worth it for us of course having your wonderful work to look at every week!
i think it's wonderful. i feel like she's strong and going to make it across. she also has another path as an option. but, her arms are close in and not extended out like she's try to balance. i agree with aimee, a shop would be very nice, indeed. enjoy your weekend!
This feels so wonderful, not scary to this woman at all. She is confident and just strolling along. I just love this. She knows that this is no different than walking on the ground. Thank you for showing me what this confidence looks like! Love and hugs my Bella, have a magical weekend!!
Hi , there thanks so much for your kind words.. I just had to pop back and look again at my favourite illo from last week..like many others I beg you!!! Please open an etsy shop...umm i really need to buy a print of this.. just stick only this one in.. you have already sold so many here in these comments!!!!!!
Oh goodness. Helen, aimee, Ces... you flatter me to no end. I'd love to get a shop up and running someday, but my butt seems to be glued to the couch. Hmmm. One day. Thank you!
Thank you for all your warm and encouraging comments!
This is my first visit....I am enchanted! I enlarged your work to catch all the fine details. Such talent and your little lady is walking along as though everything is fine. Not always the case with the rest of us. The little red flower on the roof would have been missed without enlargement and also the little elephant (?).
Bella: you are totally amazing. Your art is superb!!! I LOVE your talent! This "skinny" piece is fabulous. But I must tell you: the most recent one sure made me cry! I'm so so sorry for your loss. It is such a gorgeous illustration. xoxo
I just got back in town to find this beautiful post for skinny! How absolutely magnificent Bella! It really speaks volumes to me. That's a pretty skinny mile if you ask me! I wonder how she does it! It's so wonderful! I just adore your imagination! It's deliciously outrageous indeed he he he! Great work my precious friend. I have to check out your other post and I have my Kleenex ready. Love you pudd!
¡Hi Bella! I like the juxtaposition of red and gray. Great work with all the little tiny details, how each roof has different tile and the almost hidden details.
Bella I came and sat and looked at your post for hubby's birthday and I cried! Happy tears though. You have found wonderful ways to work through this journey that you and the girls are on. I found it both moving and amazing. You captured all that you couldn't share or say. My heart felt like it was coming out of chest when I saw it. How touching and powerful and refreshing and cleansing. Tears are often liquid pray. Know that you and your family are in mine. I love you so much girly! I really do!
Oh i love the rooftops! Really pretty piece Bella! :) How have you been? Its been a long time since I got the chance and time to sit down in front of my com. I never knew little people took up so much time till now! :P
Bella, I haven't been by in a while, but I have to say...I am so impressed. I always love your doodles, but they have moved onto something else...The evolution is lovely and touching. I have enjoyed spending some time catching up. Thanks for sharing your lovely talent. Christy

Love and hugs my Bella, have a magical weekend!!
I am a sucker for color burst pieces (blaclk/white/sepia with one focused burst of color).
I think Ms Aimee said it just right - this "doodle" captures a moment that is very open to interp. based on where the viewer is in their life.
As always, thanks for sharing your wonderfulness with us :)
