The Renee Award

I've received some wonderful awards from dear friends recently. I am truly touched that you thought of me when passing them on and am so grateful for your friendship. Thank you. It was a tough decision to make (and I hope my friends will forgive me for this), but I've decided, rather than pass them along en masse, I will pass along just one.

This one is meaningful to me in three profound ways. Firstly, it was created in honor of Renee, one human being who has made such a difference in the lives of many just by being. Her honestly, wit, intelligence, and grit are a tremendous source of inspiration. She can elicit raucous laughter and guffaws in her banter, and then turn right around and offer the most heartfelt, gentle words of wisdom and emotional support. She is a spreader of love, simple and true. And her love is infectious.

Secondly, this award was created in collaboration with one of my best friends, Ces. She is, in Renee's own words, truly original. She is an incredible artist, both in pen and ink and paint. She is fiery passion with a gentle hand. She is laughter, fun, joy, intellectual stimulation, a sister. The concept and design of the award belong to Ces.

Thirdly, this is a brand new award, and I have the pleasure and honor of spreading the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds its way to those who are like Renee:
the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…

I present this award to my partners in crime:

And to my forever friend and source of artistic inspiration,

And to some amazing friends who I feel truly embody the spirit of Renee. I see their loving, encouraging words almost everywhere I go. Their comments make me laugh and smile and give me warmth. Their acorns are plentiful.

Please accept this award and pass it along to others whom you feel are also spreaders of love.

xoxoxo

wonderful award for some very inspiration friends...always lovely to see some heartfelt joy...

Bless you all!

Well, this was fun to do because of the reasons you cited except instead of me on the No.2 reason, I'll replace it with you. Now we agree that Renee is a wonderful human being. She is also what I call, in clinical rules, a prompt, a trigger or evoke. She does all of those with her witty repartee. But you, you are something else. You are brilliant, beautiful and beloved. Hey! They all start with "B". You are the BEST thing that happened to me in blogging. See, that's another "B", Bella.

Sweet friend I am back in my state of limbo.

Cat scans yesterday and bone scans today and blood tests all week and pamidronite next week and x-rays after that.

So I will hear at the end of April so here is hoping nothing has changed or even, if some of the cancer has gone away.

Fucking cancer..... Fuck it.

Now that was nice to get out of my system.

Okay I am back to being somewhat calm.

Maybe not only ego-centric young Ms. Quest dreams are about self-discovery and a promise that you will make it to the other side.

The someone that was important to you is no other than yourself as the drawings were your own which means you need to rank yourself higher in the jockeying position for your life energy.

If you have this dream again, please try to see what is written in the book. The words will be important.

And if you felt good at the end of the dream that is really the key. The feelings it left you with are what is important.

That will be 5 cents. And if it makes sense then it will be 7 cents.

Love Renee xoxox

Esti said...

what a beautiful tribute!

Renee said...

Oh contra Madam. There is nothing sad about that dream.

Everyone has to be alone when they discover themselves and you are discovering yourself at a much younger age than most people would.

There is a need for silence when you recognize yourself because it only takes a speck of a dust mite to throw us off course.

And one of the really great things I felt (you didn't tell me how you felt whether good or bad when you awoke about the dream) is that you may have had a period (like we all do) where we forget who we are or what we want. But you have found that now.

Now you just have to make sense of it all.

And remember you are independent, strong, and loving and kind.

Are your parents there for easter? Or are they gone yet. Have an awesome time with them.

Thank you for your extra strong prayers. xoxo

Love Renee xoxoxo

Dot said...

so very sweet of you...

Ces said...

She probably won't. In fact this is probably the best time to take anything you want! Help yourself.

Discombobulated is such a disconcerting term
but a perfect description for disturbances
that dissect our digestive tracts,
disintegrate our decorum
and drive us to the deep doo-doo.
Oh how disturbing!
Darn.

Ces said...

Indeed, the discom boo-boo lation put me in the doo-doo house yesterday. A good's night rest and remembrance that with a loss (happy to have lost it) creates new space in my heart and mind and how that new filling fits perfecto mundo! She is as bright as the sun that shines in my morning. My only wish is that I hope I return her the favor and may the sun that sets on her evening glow in peace. I can't wait till we share the same skies, except yours will probably be more Skywatch Friday perfect.

I just love it when I see that flying woman's head on my blog!

Ces said...

That makes it even because I learn something special and new from you everyday.

Bella Sinclair said...

Haha! That head often becomes disembodied and just rolls around in sheer panic.

Ces said...

That would be my head but since it happened on April 7th, (read my current blog post), see why everything turned out okay! I love April 7th.

Whose head?

MY head!

Ces said...

No Housework For Blog Sisters Day! YEAH! I'm oozing, seeping, busting, PFFFTTT!!!! I am going to explode...KABOOM! I love you so much Sistah! Oh darn, I forgot to eat supper. My household is on cruise control mode and they are cruising without me except Daisy who comes here now and then and wants her hug and kiss. I gave her a bath today and sprayed her with Le Caleche. She hated it so much. I let her out in the yard and that stinker, the first things she did was roll all over the grass!

Bella Sinclair said...

Please do not leave a stain on my floor. I just mopped up after two dead bodies earlier.

Girlfriend, you GOTTA remember to eat! Just, for heaven's sake, wash your hands first.

Awww, you sprayed Daisy with perfume? Was she about to fold the laundry? ;)

Ces said...

She folded the sheets alright! Stop cracking that whip. I do not like pain.

Bella Sinclair said...

Ok, just say the safeword and I will stop.

What's going on here? Renee has me cracking a whip at Bjornik's, I'm whipping you and your dishes...sheesh! Maybe it's the 5-inch stilettos I'm wearing. No red lipstick, though. You wouldn't want a clown whipping you. Nightmares. shudder.

I am not going to let people see so many misspellings in one comment. here goes again:

Use lip liner sister. I need to give you lessons on lipstick application. Also how to eat and put food in your mouth so it does not get erased or eaten. Do you know that an average woman (what's an average woman?) will swallow/eat 4 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime?

Ooh the word verification knows me: cesest

Ces said...

Oh the safeword, I thought you did not want me to say it? :)

Bella Sinclair said...

NO no no no, don't say it.

CESEST! That's the newest and coolest word EVAR!

Oh, holy crud, Ces, your misspelled comment had me in stitches! I'm going to keep it so I can blackmail you in the future.

About the lipstick. So. If I eat four pounds of it right now, I can be done with it and forget it?

Ces said...

I want to see you eat 4 pounds of lipstick and I will be in leather boots and crack a whip and Linda will be smoking a banana flavored cigar!

The cherry blossoms are amazing and have started arriving. You would laugh because at first when I saw them coming, I thought it was a batch of swallows. But they stayed tiny and the colour was pale pink.

I have caught a few and noticed that there were some checkmarks by the prayers with the comment God has seen this one beside some of them.

They are lovely and there loveliness is melting the ice in the front of my house and around my heart.

You are amazing Bella. You know that.

What!?!! WHUT?!!! Intimidated? I was very quiet and shy. I just did not tolerate bullying. My closet friends in school were exactlty like you - the brainiacs who minded their own business and did not get in the fray. In nursing college, almost everyone was just like you, except probably six or so. The one who topped the board exam was just like you and the two valedictorians were exact opposites, one was just like you too! Katherine was exactly like you and I was intimidated by her.

Bella Sinclair said...

Then we would have been the very best of friends, I am sure of it. You? Intimidated? Baahhhh.

Really? You had closet friends, too? I though I was the only one. :)

I also have a lovely goodie for you on my blog. Please come and see! :)

The God spot. I love it.

I totally felt that instant connection with you. I remember when I came to your page and I saw your paintings and I saw your words.

If I said I had a connection right away, that would probably be a lie. But there was a feeling. A feeling that I had to come back.

And now you are one of my favourite people on earth and I know that I have always known you.

But our children to travel with them again. Isn't it wonderful Bella.

Life is good.

Love Renee xoxo

Bella, I've shared this with Renee and I want to share this with you too. It is a comment from a friend of mine about my post today. The motherhood qualities that she praises I think rings true of several of my friends. I posted this as a response to everyone's comment. I think it rings ture of you. I could not say it any better:

"...We are challenged to be in the moment, to really attend, to truly see, and then to listen, to hear the words of wisdom bestowed upon us by our parents. It is funny how years later we recall a time and place like yesterday, when they embraced our true selves and helped to remind us of what is important in life. My mother was very wise, but life took its toll on her in so many ways. But even now I remember the important lessons she tried to impart to me. I also remember her acceptance of my faults, such that I could come to accept them not as limitations, but as reflections of my whole self. It is true what you wrote, we as parents, our primary job is to prepare our children for their future families and to let them go. We have our children for such a short time, so we must make the most of it by giving of ourselves, but more importantly, through our actions, seeing and accepting our children as they are. If we do it right, our children move on and out into the world to find their own path and to make their own family. In the end, that is the best gift; the circle of life and family is continued. p."

Sometimes I pinch myself in order to make sure I am not dreaming, that my friend at work is real and YOU are real. I don't know what I have done to deserve such truly wondrous blessings.
