Still Celebrating

When I read this week's Illustration Friday theme, Celebrate, the first thing I actually thought of was that sappy commercial for General Foods International Coffees. The one that ends with the jingle, "Celebrate the moments of your life." Know which one I'm talking about? Am I old? Do they still make that coffee?

So here is a doodle inspired by that commercial and a couple of dear friends. I hope they know who they are.

She regaled them with stories of odd hobbies and sprouts at the CuppaCuppa Tree.

If you don't know that commercial but are curious, here it is in its grainy glory.

Okay, silence while the broken record is on 'I love this picture.'

Okay, no kitties for you, get excitement of some other kind.

You are a kook and I know that I would adore an evening spent with you.

That's so sweet - it just expresses that whole thing with friends you can talk to, absolutely perfectly. I need to do one with my neighbour and I up a tree with a bottle of red. :)

i'm at latteland in kansas city right now, and i'll have to repair the hole in their roof because i shot through the ceiling when i saw this! WOW! i am beyond words. almost. thank you, thank you, thank you bella! what a gem of a person you are.

i'm feeling a drawing swap coming on? ces and bella?

p.s. if only i were this sweet in real life. this gives me hope. also, the word verification here was fretcha.

I have been tingling all morning, even with the lack of sleep because I was on call last night. I am so giddy, happy and very grateful. Bella you are the queen of nice. I can imagine the hole in the roof where Aimee shot through. I did the same thing in my bedroom this morning. It awakened my husband. Please forgive me. I printed the drawing in laser color and my thrill has reached orgasmic level. Oh how vulgar but I am so tickled!

Yes an exchange would be luvely!

Ces & Aimee, I'd be honored if you took this. And please send me a bill for the roof repair.

Aimee, I fretcha you ARE sweet in real life. See how that word works?

Ces, I'm not going to even TOUCH your last comment. :D But I'm jumping up and down at the thought of an exchange. I would love to print out that drawing when you talked about your mother.... Now let's see. I'll have to go back to your blog to find it.

Oh, Gail, I wholeheartedly agree. Good friends are to be treasured. Thank you.

Hi, TattingChic. It is I who adore them. And I adore you, too!

Yoon See! I think a party is in order, don't you?! Thanks for coming by!

Renee, I think Kook is the best thing anyone's ever called me!! :D How I'd love to spend an evening with you and probe that witty brain of yours. Time to change the needle on your record player.

Rachel, I'd love to see a pic of that! But you know what they say: Friends don't let friends climb drunk. So be careful. :)

Linda! Ah, the power of advertising. How great would that be if our girls could play together. Mine loves, loves, loves to draw. So I have a feeling the girls would be making art, and we'd be playing.

Hi, Dusik & Bobo! Kick off your shoes and grab a branch! You're welcome to join in the fun! And your sister, too!

Please pardon my uncontrolled verbal ejaculation. I really am so thrilled. What drawing? You mean this?

This morning I broke down and poured myself a cup of coffee. I poured some creamer on it and it looked funny. I looked at the creamer and it was expired!!! TheViking brought the creamer for me when I was drinking coffee and that the last time I drank coffee was April 10th. The box of creamer was still full.

So I poured the coffee down the sink.

Saved by curdled creamer!
