Hiromi selected her pale green kimono.

Have a vibrant and colorful week!

Hi Bella, I have the same idea for IF's pale. First thing that came to my mind was a geisha. But I had it in B&W. Very nice composition, it's like Japanese art.

Dreamy and beatiful, Bella!

This is a beautiful shade of pastel. I love your Japonisme theme, except in your case, it is the real thing. Outstanding impression of delicacy with the white flowers, the fading background and her coiffure. This is a sweet image.

OOOh Bella you make me long for springtime! Oh man this is wonderful. I can just smell the cherry blossoms. It's beautiful! You've captured such a beautiful moment. I was stuck there for a moment and almost forgot to leave a comment. I was just scaring at the painting. I'm so moved by this. Great work.

Yeah, she is so beautiful.
I love the pale blurring effect at the background. The geisha is just so sweet to resisit. May I date her?

When I see pale for this week challenge, I also have the same idea as yours and Bjornik of making a geisha drawing.
He...He...but I will try others approach later.

milly (elephants&redwoods) said...

how did you do that? is that a sketch? its amazing

Bella Sinclair said...

Thank you, everyone. Thank you so very much.

Milly, this is a pencil sketch, which I scanned into Illustrator. I created a background layer of cherry blossoms, which I then blurred. On another layer, I colored in the Geisha and created smaller, crisp blossoms. And then on the top layer, I traced the outline with ink brushstrokes on Illustrator. No special tricks. I don't know any. Thanks for asking!
