IF - Climbing

click for larger view

This past weekend, the city built a fantastic new treehouse in the park by my house. It was part of an exhibit on "Trees Meet Water," much of which I didn't understand because it was written in Japanese. It took nearly one week to build, and then it was open for all to climb and visit over the weekend. And then, just like that, they dismantled it and took it away on Monday. I have no idea whether it was brought back to life somewhere else. I hope so.

Have a wonderful week!

OMG that's so awesome. Oh Japan you are so weird. WHY WOULD THEY TEAR IT DOWN?!

Oh I saw Benjamin Button. Made me cry my eyeballs out :P

This is so totally cool! It's too bad the tree house couldn't stay, huh? Well, maybe it's all for the best. Good that you got some photos of it and now this adorable illustration! I love your artwork!

One week!

I am so glad you are not tearing yours down soon. You inspire me so much Bella. You are a source of everything that is good and beautiful and I am SOO proud to blog with you. This illustration has so many fun and fantastic details. I love that you used dishes!

Oooh! The word verification sound so vulgar!

Oh I mistyped it now it sounds like a part of the digestive system.

Or maybe it's just my medication making me think wildly.

Lovely, I was thinking it was a bit Miyazaki-esque, and of course you're in Japan. Really, that's a wonderful rendering of a classic fantasy.

Aww, unfortunately all good things sometimes come to an end like that awesome treehouse! Your rendition of it is absolutely lovely!

Oh Bella... the slide to the tea cup and the gazebo are perfect!!! Is this destined to be colored? It would be so cute!

Woooo, now that's a really nice drawing of the tree house :)
But I'd imagine it's going to be a hard time getting home if I lived up there! :P

Oh, Bella, I love your tree house drawing. The details are whimsical and magical ... the tea cup on the branch, the dog in a cup, and the cupcake. It makes me so happy just to look at the picture :) Thanks for the treat, Bella.

I love your impressionable drawing of the tree house in the park. Looks like hard work to get a coffee or cupcake around your place ;)

Shame it had to come down so soon after it was built.

That is one tall, tall tree!
A total fantasy it is, it would be so hard to build forget tearing it done.
I would never want to leave. I have a weakness for tree houses... very wonderful!

What a fabulous place... a real dream home (in warm weather!) Whata shame that it's taken down! Your treehouse is fabulous too!- JOhn

Sugoi! Your illustration is so cute, I love the concept of the very tall tree. If I were to illustrate something similar, I would've just drawn a simple tree with a ladder.:)
And the details you placed in there are so omoshiroi! You just inspired me more creative and to do the upcoming drawings I have in mind.

Too bad for the tree house though, which reminds me that I haven't climb in any.:(

What a wonderful treehouse!!! I'm sad it's gone, and hope they rebuild it again. Treehouses are such special places for kids.
