IF - Baby

Lily of the Valley is one of my favorites. The delicate miniature blooms remind me of tiny baby caps...perfect for little garden pixies.

One of these days, I will teach myself how to properly colorize with Illustrator.

IF - Worry

The topic was difficult for me this week. It brought to mind all the stressful things that consume me: earthquakes, famine, disease, global climate, poverty. Too many negative images, too much sadness all at once. I did manage to squeeze out two quick sketches, however. I didn't want to dwell too much on the subject....

This little guy, set adrift in the artic ocean, worries whether he'll ever be able to swim back home. Sadly, I don't think he will.

My second sketch is of a worried mother. She wonders what kind of world her children will inherit while they merrily have a tea party, not a care in the world. Ah, to be ignorant once more, if only for a little while.

IF - Wide

Emma and Mr. Nines climbed to the top of Baldhead Hill and pondered the vast starry sky. Oh, the possibilities were endless!

IF - Electricity

I always love watching the hair of little kids stand up on end as they reach the end of the slide, as if the hair itself is screaming with glee at the one-second thrill.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

IF - Seed

Children are for loving, growing, nurturing. They are our seeds.

PS. I realized after a while that the little guy on the left had been floating in mid air. I finally gave him a shadow to keep him grounded. Oops.
