IF-Wise

Life on the farm had made her wise beyond her years.

Rural Korean villagers carrying water jugs.

My brain is on strike. It refuses to work. This week, I not only tried to pay $30 for a Subway sandwich and stood dumbfounded when the cashier returned my money, but I also loaded up a week's worth of groceries in the cart only to discover at the register that I had left the house without my purse. It's been a very unwise week for me.

This is a drawing I started over a year ago, and too feeble-minded to think up something new, I decided to finish it for this week's Illustration Friday.

oh, you amaze me to no end! this is stunning, bella, i can't imagine how long it must have taken you to draw this beautiful picture.

hey, i spaced on my wallet at the grocery store last week, too. i had a cart full of stuff and had to put it all back. it was the pits.

but forget the wallet thing. this drawing is fabulous, and you are, indeed, very wise :)

Oh Bella, where have you been keeping these illustrations. i always loved your little children drawings but this is one of my favorites of your work thus far. Oh you have a beautifl gift. Stop going on strike, look around you and let your heart, hands, pencil and pen rule. You delight me. Not only are you gifted master you are also very sweet!

Bummer about the grocery shopping. I think we go through the same experiences sometimes. Just make sure your brain is tired and not awry. Rest or see a doctor. However, with a drawing like this I think you are just ired and preoccupies. At leat you were not wearing your glasses and kept screaming at everyone that you lost your glasses like I di and also put my sunglasses in the freezer one day.

There's so much emotion here! The detail is amazing! You've outdone yourself! I really love it!
I'm sorry about your grocery store experience. I think we've all had days or weeks like that. The good thing is that it all passes and then we can laugh about it.
This is a hectic time of year for most people and we tend to overwork ourselves and have too much on our mind...

Hi Bella,
You are back Bella and so do I:)
I just got my PC today....
Thanks for your support too dropping by my blog:)
Yeah, this was not a good experience and it happened to me before sometimes back......
Ammmm, I do agree with aimee, forget about the unhappy issues and move on.
This is certainly a wonderful piece done with wisdom, love and patience!
Now, you are very wise to move on and finish up the unfinished, so that we can rediscover you in your unique way.
I also always do drawings halfway, guess I better finish the unfinished too. I learn so much from you Bella
Bye and good nite!!!

I think all of us are bit exhausted :) and I'm glad you are with us...I have been imagining you wisely herding baby elephants at the White Elephant sale!

You are one talented woman! Love the detail and the monochromatic scheme! As always well done!

Oy, I am a spacecadet all the time!

Bella, this is absolutely stunning. Your pencil drawing is so sensitive and magical. It definitely picks the theme's mood.

*Don't feel so bad about the shopping experience. It's a very commong thing. I did that once, rushed home, hurried back, but they put everything back already. I told them, "But I said I'd be back." And they answered, "They all say that, but they don't come back." See, we're not alone :D

Bella, You know you had me laughing so hard!!! he he he. I'm still laughing. I really love doing voiceover work. I would love to do a cartoon someday. Anyway, more about you. I love the illustration. It's so different than what I expected which is so refreshing and wonderful. You have talent coming out of your pores. What great work you do. This was both a great read and illustration. EXCELLENT!!!

I left my purse at home last spring when I was preggo and had my 3yo in tow. The store was able to put my entire cart in their dairy fridge until I came back with the money!

And, you have great drawing skills!

WOW! This was an unexpected style for me, but beautiful - the mood is so very gentle and soft. Very very nice :)
I actually experienced both the "wise" and the wallet thing today! Well, the wallet had just hidden itself in the darkest corner of the bag, but for a moment... brain-freeze, brrr. And I overheard a very very very long story on the bus about how the person in question was too wise for his years. Apparently he was only 25, but he really did sound like at least 45+, lol. I prolly won't sound like that when I get there...:o
Your blog always leaves me inspired to do more (and a little ashamed that I post stuff that aren't finished...):p

I can also relate to you 'unwise' week. I seem to have a lot days like this! I blame my kids! They have zapped all the brain power in my head. Ha!

Great drawing! I like all of the detail. Well worth finishing.

I sympathize with your spaciness. It happens to me when I'm sleep-deprived. I do all sorts or unusual things and I get really irritable, forgetful, and worst of all, paranoid. Things I'd never give a second thought to make me paranoid and anxious when I'm tired. This is why I like sleep.
