Happy

No more elephants, please! The White Elephant sale I'm working on for the school is going great. Tons of wonderful donations. Lugging boxes and bags every day and wading through the junk has turned out to be more physically demanding than I anticipated, but there are only a few more days until it's all over.

Until then, here's something else to feast upon besides elephants. These are a set of kitchen sponges I picked up at the 100 yen store (dollar store) in Harajuku a little while back. Aren't they cute? It's little things like this that keep me going.

Happy Super Tuesday!

how cute! these would put a smile on y face every time I washed the dishes!

I am gearing up for a white elephant event myself...mine is a lot smaller and not for a noble cause. It is part of our family tradition to have a white elephant gift exchange party for friends and family. It's tons of fun, and work..but mostly fun! I usually design the invites so I have been thinking of ideas for that, and seeing your post reminded me that I need to work on that.

Aww, aren't you guys all so sweet, stopping by to comment on silly little sponges! Thanks, all. I've had a tough day -- we had a White Elephant pre-sale today, and one lady told me I was not a good person because I wouldn't give her a deeper discount on her purchase of $1 and $3 clothes. I was feeling pretty blue, but you guys really made my day. You're all happy little sponges.

Edrian, good luck on your party. That sounds like a LOT more fun than mine! Please post your invites. I'd love to see them!

I totally and happily agree with you. How cute is this Mama! I love them. Makes me just want to dirty up some dishes and get busy! Then I don't know if I would really use them on dirty dishes. Okay honestly, I would find a way to pin them on my person and wear them he he he.

Glad to hear your sale is going well! Sorry to hear about your cranky customer - she's the one who's not a good person saying something like that!!

In regards to the sponges: how do you stand being surrounded by all the cute? Gawd, Id' love it! :)

Kawaii! That's something I've picked up by watching tons and tons of japanese tv-shows...;) But like Vanessa said - I'd wear them! :D
And about that customer ...I think she might not quite have grasped the idea of the event... ICK! Sometimes I just have to hit myself for being so darn objective! :}
Anyways, good to see you're still not too worn out to blog. :)

HA! Yes, maybe I'll wear them instead. :D

Thank you!

Japan is awesome. The closest I'm going to get for the time being is LA's Little Tokyo and the Mitsuwa market. Stuff like this is great.

Ohhh, those sponges are so darling, Bella!!!! I love washing dishes (by hands), Lars thinks I'm weird for not using the dish washer. I try to make the sink area nice, so I would have a happy washing time. (It's the only nice spot in the kitchen. Make it the whole house!)

One thing I know is,
when one is on a roadshow...craftshow...etc,
we need to do the extra to share the products...
And that's how experience & wisdom come along.
I think Bella, you have gathered plenty...Good luck again:)
