What do you do when your kid asks you a question you can't answer?
One day, as we were driving through some thick fog, my kids asked me, "What IS fog, anyway?"
"Why it's...it's...a cloud that's come down to kiss the earth," I replied. It could be true. Wouldn't it be nice if it were true?
Then one day as I drove along the Hudson River, I saw a cloud, and it appeared to be hovering just inches above the still water. She was beautiful as she kissed the river.
I've included a few tiny Totoros in the hillside as an homage to my idol, Miyazaki.

You have the most delightful way of explaining thing ... a fog is the cloud that kiss the earth :)
And the Lady Fog is lovely, enshrouded in delicate mist kissing the river. How magical!

Your foggy is very nice. If only fog was always so gentle. I took time out from drawing to raise a family also. Now that they are mostly raised, Illustration Friday is a great incentive to do more art. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm glad you are participating.
