IF - Worry

The topic was difficult for me this week. It brought to mind all the stressful things that consume me: earthquakes, famine, disease, global climate, poverty. Too many negative images, too much sadness all at once. I did manage to squeeze out two quick sketches, however. I didn't want to dwell too much on the subject....

This little guy, set adrift in the artic ocean, worries whether he'll ever be able to swim back home. Sadly, I don't think he will.

My second sketch is of a worried mother. She wonders what kind of world her children will inherit while they merrily have a tea party, not a care in the world. Ah, to be ignorant once more, if only for a little while.

Indeed, ice melting is very worrying. It's very sad that animals are always the first to pay for our(human) actions. That is why we should do what we can to help. Smallest actions when accumulated can do great things.

Great illo! :)

Cheers!

Wow, I love it. The first is so simple and so intense. And the second is so sweet and worrying...
I'm so agree with you. Very good takes on the topic!

The bear does a great job of conveying worry. He's so small the ocean so big. I'm not sure I would've gotten worry from the second one without the explaination--I think it conveys thoughtfulness and is beautiful, but it doesn't seem to have the tension that elicits worry to me.

The polar bear picture is very powerful if you let it be..also sort of cute.

Wow! Very powerful illustrations! There's definitely a lot to worry about, especially if you have kids and you want them to have a good future.

I like both pieces. On the second one, I liked the distressed plant almost sharing the same worry sentiment of the mother. Well done!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on it!

Both pieces are very real and personal to me! I am glad my daughter doesn't worry, but I do (about both scenarios).
